Which races are affected by the muses Song of War if it were to be performed?
Tirolians and their creations. Rather, lower caste Tirolians, Science Masters and above would be relatively unaffected,
Creations as in the Zentradi?
Imagine how bugnuts that might drive a natural born Zent to, especially one who was relatively clueless about the culture overall, like miss fleet brat Aylanea. Wondering wtf was going on, on top of everything else. Heehee. :)
Good thing the inside of a Mecha is sound proof…
Audio recordings are a great thing… But thanks for giving me an idea to mess with all the wanabe meltrans :P
It's soundproof, but if they got intel on who was in what, well, easy enough probably for them to hack a mecha's comm system and broadcast it over the speakers, to bypass it. Hehehehehe.
Ooops. Well I can't wait to be humming The Song of War while it's being played in my FPA !!
That becomes more of a discussion of the capabilities of the war songs of the Muses, though, as well. Depending on what level of control it allows them over someone under it's effects. If they start using combination of the ones to control and ones to drive to fight, I'd be more worried about the mind controlling effects.
One round of the song to make them obedient and passive, and Aylanea will be taking an mp3 player with her, and sticking it on to counter the effect. :p Minute she recognizes that, just flick on the player and let Dragonforce and other such music consume her, and go after the source of it. And in a very unpleasant mood. :)
Song of War gives a combat bonus per palladium rules. (see: Muses in Masters Source Book)
I read some of the stuff in there on the muse songs. In game terms for combat that's great, but in terms of some other things it isn't. If the harp can control their thoughts as stated, they'd be able to do something that was a combination of the two, to make the Zentraedi or Tirolians fight specifically for them, is the thought. Which is where the concern lies. The basic war song that just drives em to fight maybe not, but… ;)
That's for the GM ultimately… Every pro has it's con… Rather cancel out the bonus than not to have it available.
Like the Nuetron S at liberty station… I would hope the GM would reward the player find/inginuity in regards the Song of War be rewarded and not punished as it were…
I want to hear "This was not forseen…" when tge Song of War gets played…
We'll just have wait and see…
Well, I'm me, so I might be ascribing things to the harps that aren't really part of the harps, too. Mostly other sources that involved brainwashing and such through sonic frequencies beyond normal hearing and whatnot. I was thinking a little genetic predisposition/adjustment for it, and a little frequency/subharmonics, and suddenly party members turn.
That's just a me thing though, the GM has indicated he's more 'go with the book' on it. :)
Well, I tend to stick with the book on most things…until I want to be an asshole…err I mean, creative! Yeah, that's the word… /shifty eyes.
Wait GMs do that?!
/shock /horror O.o. !!!
… And all along I thought a GM was a players friend :(
/sadpandaface
:P
