Chapter 4 - Act IV - Part 1

BEGIN LOG

[07:40:51] GM: okay
[07:41:19] GM: You're fighters are prepped and loaded out with what you may require.
[07:41:25] GM: What may you require?
[07:42:28] Capt Kain Crockett: NUKES
[07:42:49] 2Lt. Sarah: lol
[07:43:07] Capt Kain Crockett: Wait, which were we going after again, let me check the logs. I haven't reviewed it yet.
[07:45:38] GM: The jammer
[07:46:15] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Okay, we are going after teh jammer. I think some heavy explosive rounds, any disruptors would be the best thing))
[07:47:06] Capt Kain Crockett: ((possibly soem napalm to scorch and melt the fucker down once we have it as a scrap.))
[07:49:41] GM: nod
[07:49:51] Capt Kain Crockett: ((any comments from Carrie?))
[07:51:23] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. Sounds good to me. ))
[07:51:25] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[07:51:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( sorry for quiet point, I had to take dishes up from supper ))
[07:52:06] GM: nuuu not the dishes!
[07:52:08] GM: okay
[07:52:38] GM: so, you have Shadow Legios, so, and nukes have been authorized.
[07:52:40] 2Lt. Sarah: (( anyhow, yeah. someone needs to have a disruptor at least, I'd recommend one breacher with a disruptor, and theothers possibly more conventional stuff so they can do damage to whatever is on location ))
[07:52:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yay nukes! ))
[07:53:03] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[07:53:09] Capt Kain Crockett: "Reserve the deep friers for the hive itself."
[07:53:49] Cpt. Aylanea awws at that.
[07:54:58] GM: Okay
[07:56:27] Cpt. Aylanea: (( the idea of keeping more conventional stuff passable? And of course, Sarah and Ay want dual EU-13s for the alphas, or if one needs a disruptor, atleast one EU-13 with it. ))
[07:56:31] GM: Your intell lets you know that the cource of the jamming is in space, further out in the system
[07:57:59] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Sauce.))
[07:58:33] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Nuke the hive from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.))
[07:59:31] GM: It is (was) being screened by two Clam ships (used to be three but one was blown up) There wasnt any eyes on becuase the screening invid were able to keep the Havocs fighters at bay (and Suki decided not to risk lives uselessly trying to punch thru that many Scouts
[08:02:10] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Deep fried clam, YUUUUUUMMMM!))
[08:02:53] Cpt. Aylanea: (( lol ))
[08:02:56] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ^_^ ))
[08:03:12] GM: I love that place, eat there ALL the time
[08:04:18] Capt Kain Crockett: ((are we in range of the clams?))
[08:04:35] GM: No, they are many millions of km away
[08:06:39] GM: They also picked up and destoryed a Ghost drone strike, which makes Suki believe they are using non PC sensors to detect them (or have the resources to blanket the area such that they could pick them up visually…which is doubtful…if they had that many Invid, they would have attcked and wiped the Havoc out long ago)
[08:08:17] GM: So, in effect this mission is a combination of Recon and Search and Destroy
[08:09:19] Capt Kain Crockett flies casually.
[08:09:32] GM: what ever it is is using mass shadows to prevent a detailed (LOS) scan, and it's only been thru hard work and talented folks that they have been able to figure the general area
[08:10:18] GM: Okay, crew assignments? Anyone in back seats?
[08:10:19] 2Lt. Sarah frowns slightly at that, pondering the implications., and watching cautiously as she flies.
[08:10:43] GM: (just want to get that taken care of now before folks start magically apprearing inside planes))
[08:11:14] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe, not for me ))
[08:11:23] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Nyx will take a back seat.))
[08:11:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe, k ))
[08:12:02] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Kain and Nyx, despite being not trained for Alphas have better bonuses..))
[08:12:23] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. ^_^ ))
[08:12:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Sarah's bonus sucks compared to Ay's, but meh. ^_^ ))
[08:15:53] GM: okay so, who is in the front seats?
[08:17:16] Capt Kain Crockett: Kain and Nyx.
[08:17:44] Capt Kain Crockett: I'd prefer one of Carrie's to be in a Beta, but if not, I'll move Nyx into a one of their Betas.
[08:18:17] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oh. ))
[08:18:30] 2Lt. Sarah: (( okay. ))
[08:20:56] Capt Kain Crockett: Actually, having the scientist and the mechanic play radar readers is probably a good idea.
[08:21:02] GM: nod
[08:21:11] Capt Kain Crockett: So who does Nyx tag along with? Ay or Sarah?
[08:21:37] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Sarah needs a better shooter more ^_^ ))
[08:21:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( so probably with her ))
[08:22:04] Capt Kain Crockett: okay.
[08:24:03] GM: Okay so Nyx with Sarah?
[08:24:27] GM: who is Ay's backseater (if any?)
[08:25:02] GM: And Kain's?
[08:25:23] Capt Kain Crockett: A cheesburger. I've always maintained that the Alpha and Beta could be flown by fast food and still perform as well….
[08:25:29] Capt Kain Crockett: Kain get's Mel.
[08:25:50] GM: You can has Mel
[08:26:16] GM: Okay, thats all the PC's accounted for
[08:26:18] GM: that it?
[08:27:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Ay is fine ^_^ ))
[08:27:05] GM: okay
[08:28:30] GM: You fly casually, for many hours until your passive sensors start to pick up largish portions of the debris field from the earlier sorties, (mainly the clamship debris since it's bigger)
[08:29:47] GM: occasionally you catch a glimpse of a battered scout or the chucnk of something REF in origin as you continue on.
[08:30:55] GM: ahead of you you, in the distance is a binary set of planetoids within a cojoined ring of asteroids and other fine particles (at this point a million klicks + away)
[08:31:50] GM: actions?
[08:33:35] WO Febrith Nyx scans the planetoid for peculiarities. [1d20+1] => [15,1] = (16) PERC, [1d100] => [33] = (33) vs 53 RSI, [1d100] => [69] = (69) vs 83 Astrophysics, [1d100] => [4] = (4) vs 63 Intelligence
[08:34:52] GM: The planetiods (astrophysics) orbits create a very robust mask to any long range scan, this must be what LtCol Ishida was talking about.
[08:35:28] GM: ((well, orbits, mass, and the fine particles…insert random and unintelligable technobabble here))
[08:35:40] 2Lt. Sarah makes very sure the cloak is active, and looks around nervously, seeing if she can check for PC signatures at all from inside the mech. [1d20+5] => [19,5] = (24) detect pc, [1d20+1] => [10,1] = (11) perc
[08:35:52] GM: ((sexy success btw…roll of 69!))
[08:35:59] 2Lt. Sarah: (( not that she'dknow at this point, mind you ))
[08:36:25] GM: Sorry no dear, 1 to 5 miles max range on that for joo
[08:36:43] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah. lol. just automatic try. ^_^ ))
[08:37:09] 2Lt. Sarah: (( might as well. ^_^ hehehe. anyhow. ^_^ ))
[08:37:22] GM: ((no worries, if something pops in that range, I'll let you know (gonna follow in the BESM vain, on that, eliminate rolls as much as I can))
[08:37:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( sense other invid works at far longer ranges. and ah. ^_^ ))
[08:38:23] GM: Nyx, based on your read of the orbits etc, you think you have a good idea where a orbital would be…more along the lines of, 'if I wanted to hide, I'd hide there..'
[08:41:58] GM: …
[08:42:10] GM: Anyone?
[08:42:51] Lt. Melanie McGregor will look for anything that suggests an ambush point. [1d20] => [3] = (3) perc, [1d100] => [1] = (1) vs 84 RSI, [1d100] => [35] = (35) vs 84 fortifications
[08:43:35] Cpt. Aylanea peers around at stuff randomly. [1d20] => [13] = (13) perc, [1d100] => [88] = (88) rsi vs. 88%, [1d100] => [90] = (90) intelligence vs. 84%, [1d100] => [18] = (18) space navigation vs. 83%
[08:43:56] Capt Kain Crockett: "Alright everyone follow toward that planetoid, where Nyx projects the orbital to be.
[08:44:00] GM: Mel, based on your rolls, you determine that there are a few 'kill zones' awaiting any enenmy that manages to get to close.
[08:44:13] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ultra rsi crit for melanie! ))
[08:46:03] GM: Mel, you plug in your data to Nyx's charts alone with Ay's very good Nav route and find a least risk course to your destination that avoids the kill zones.
[08:46:19] Capt Kain Crockett will plot around the kill zones in an attempt to head straight for the jammer and then start heading back to attack from the rear.
[08:46:34] GM: ((kekeke))
[08:49:02] Cpt. Aylanea will follow in with the group, as will Sarah, to avoid the zones as well.
[08:50:31] GM: As you begin your approach and swing around one of the planetoids you see what you are looking for. Ahead of you is a Haydonite (slightly dinged up one at that) sensor array/ship
[08:51:35] Capt Kain Crockett: "I can see a few toasters turning over in a recycling pit if the invid are using it."
[08:52:02] Cpt. Aylanea: "Yeah…"
[08:52:06] WO Febrith Nyx checks to see if it is active. [1d20+1] => [9,1] = (10) PERC, [1d00] => [1] = (1) vs 53 RSI
[08:53:04] GM: It is active
[08:53:34] Capt Kain Crockett fires 5 HEAP missiles at it. [1d20+3] => [19,3] = (22)
[08:54:00] GM: ummm…
[08:54:13] 2Lt. Sarah: "And worse, it can see through the cloaks. Remember the sabotage issue…"
[08:54:19] 2Lt. Sarah: (( very large ship, yes? ))
[08:54:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( like, 5 SRMs not gonna do jack or shit? ))
[08:54:38] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[08:54:49] 2Lt. Sarah: (( if in range even ))
[08:55:13] GM: Like at your range 5 SRM's arent gonne even reach it
[08:55:29] GM: oh, and yeah, prolly wont scratch the pain either
[08:55:41] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Arbirtrary range in space!))
[08:56:32] Capt Kain Crockett: ((sorry, never actually going to leave my system))
[08:56:46] Capt Kain Crockett: ((will nukes reach and kill it?))
[08:57:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( how many rounds will it have to shoot down a nuke from this range? ))
[09:01:28] 2Lt. Sarah: (( even if it would reach ))
[09:01:40] 2Lt. Sarah: (( it's gonna be in the air a long time with them watching it and lining up the aimed shot. ))
[09:02:01] GM: well, launching nukes is gonna be detected, but thats a given. The orbital/facility haydonite ship has decent anti fighter capability (as would be needed for a more or less immobile structure)
[09:04:01] GM: the structure is one of those free floating array's (and I've been trying to find an image, but cant)
[09:06:34] Capt Kain Crockett: "We'll fly in on a streamline fashion, give them a single sillouette to shoot at. When we get close enough that the aa guns to have to panic to stop our anti-ship missiles, we break fromation, each fire a nuke and then turn and burn."
[09:06:40] GM: ((it's about a kilometer in width, maybe 3/4 a kilometer in height, roughtly octagonal, with a 'depth' of maybe 500 meters
[09:07:33] 2Lt. Sarah: "Acknwoledged."
[09:07:43] Cpt. Aylanea: "Acknowledged."
[09:08:22] Capt Kain Crockett: ((so what rolls do you need for that plan to work, GM?))
[09:11:18] GM: RSI, and Nav (from the leader that the others will follow)
[09:14:54] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d100] => [3] = (3) vs 70 RSI, [1d100] => [27] = (27) vs base nav…
[09:16:05] GM: You set your course, and the others follow in your wake. You step into attack. You close up on your IP and Kain, you notice on your scanners that the central hub of the Haydonite structure seems entwined in vines…or tentacles…it's hard to tell.
[09:17:24] Capt Kain Crockett: "You ladies can relax, the tentacle monsters seem to prefer toasters."
[09:17:39] Cpt. Aylanea gigglesnorts at that.
[09:18:24] GM: Sarah, as you get closer, you can feel an Invid presnce
[09:19:07] GM: ((it's massive))
[09:19:36] 2Lt. Sarah: "Invid presence detected in the area… a huge presence…." She blinks and tries to sense what it might be exactly.
[09:19:48] GM: It's behind the Array
[09:20:20] Capt Kain Crockett: "The Invid are tentacle raping the Haydonites? Explains so much of the animosity."
[09:21:18] 2Lt. Sarah: "It's behind the array itself, not sure what it is…" She frowns.
[09:22:00] GM: You are coming up on your IP
[09:22:44] 2Lt. Sarah: "And the entire thought is nauseating."
[09:24:13] GM: Shoot or Hold?
[09:24:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( that's the CO's call ^_^ ))
[09:24:53] Capt Kain Crockett: "Fire."
[09:25:24] GM: roll
[09:25:35] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d20+5] => [9,5] = (14)
[09:25:56] GM: [8d20] => [5,18,18,8,9,6,1,17] = (82) all +3
[09:26:00] 2Lt. Sarah: [1d20+5] => [14,5] = (19)
[09:26:15] Cpt. Aylanea: [1d20+5] => [1,5] = (6)
[09:26:20] Cpt. Aylanea: (( … oh shit ))
[09:26:51] GM: Ay, you will have a problem… roll a control roll. the missiles booster lit, but it did not, repeat, did NOT detach from the rail.
[09:26:55] Capt Kain Crockett: ((*passes Carrie a new character sheet.*))
[09:27:38] Cpt. Aylanea: [1d100] => [12] = (12) vs. 98% pilot alpha
[09:28:45] GM: You manage to compensate, but you have to get rid of the nuke before it detonates
[09:29:13] GM: (based on time to target…such and such distance = so and so seconds of burn…)
[09:29:21] Cpt. Aylanea: [1d100] => [32] = (32) vs 93% weapon systems
[09:29:46] Cpt. Aylanea frantically tries to get it to detach and stuff.
[09:30:15] GM: you manage to eject the rail itself and the nuke flies off, ripping a nice gash out of the side of your plane as it careens away
[09:30:32] GM: other strike rolls?
[09:31:15] Cpt. Aylanea: (( think Mel had yet to shoot at least ))
[09:31:30] Cpt. Aylanea: (( if not Nyx as well ))
[09:31:35] Capt Kain Crockett: ((the three legioss have all fired nukes.))
[09:31:46] Cpt. Aylanea: (( unless they don't fire separate. k ))
[09:32:36] GM: ahh ok
[09:33:18] GM: 5 nukes continue on towards the traget flying stright hot and normal while Ay errant nuke tries to catch up…
[09:34:05] Cpt. Aylanea: (( rofl ))
[09:34:34] GM: the arrays anti fighter guns blaze to life and begin tracking the inbound weapons. Nuke one makes it past, nuke 2 and 3 are wiped out, nuke 4 and 5 make it as well, and nuke 6 is easily picked off.
[09:36:00] GM: roll damage
[09:36:56] GM: d4x1000
[09:37:56] GM: per missile
[09:38:09] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d4*1000] => 3000
[09:38:36] Capt Kain Crockett: ((you want me to mak all of them or should carrie handle the ones that made it through.))
[09:38:45] 2Lt. Sarah: [1d4*1000] => 2000
[09:38:47] GM: she can handle one, you can do the other
[09:39:19] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d4*1000] => 1000
[09:39:26] Capt Kain Crockett: ((6000))
[09:40:40] GM: The nukes shred the base and slag much of the superstructure but the sheer size of the facility keeps it from being destroyed outright. Parts of the facility glow and other are aflame with secondary and tertiary explosions being seen
[09:41:48] GM: okay, time for some fun
[09:42:14] GM: roll a d100 (one person only
[09:42:49] GM: I dont care who
[09:43:16] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d100] => [47] = (47)
[09:43:32] GM: lol
[09:43:37] GM: no additional effect
[09:43:56] GM: only a roll of 42-59 was no effect too,
[09:44:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nice :p ))
[09:44:42] GM: I'll give you one more chance, carrie you roll this time, anything between 32-69 is no effect
[09:45:06] 2Lt. Sarah: [1d100] => [40] = (40)
[09:45:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( fsck ))
[09:45:18] GM: well, guess the Haydonite build em well
[09:45:46] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oh well ^_^ hehe ))
[09:47:35] GM: as you break off, backseaters roll RSI (front seaters roll Pilot checks…blast wave)
[09:48:11] 2Lt. Sarah: [1d100] => [71] = (71) vs. 94%
[09:48:25] Cpt. Aylanea: [1d100] => [8] = (8) vs 104%
[09:48:29] Cpt. Aylanea: (( woot ))
[09:48:36] GM: Sarah you are buffeted, but besides your fillings being knocked out, you are fine
[09:48:37] Lt. Melanie McGregor: [1d100] => [91] = (91)
[09:48:45] WO Febrith Nyx: [1d100] => [5] = (5)
[09:48:51] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d100] => [35] = (35)
[09:49:19] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol. I'm sure dentist would /love/ her, drilling in and getting that stinky green crud everywhere. :p :) ))
[09:50:35] GM: Nyx, you note that the jamming has ceased, although you didnt obliterate the structure, you did render it unable to perform it's primary function. You also pick up an energy spike from behind the structure, and can see the tentacles (those that survived, wriggle back behind the Haydonite machine
[09:55:32] Capt Kain Crockett flies back toward the planet.
[09:55:47] Capt Kain Crockett: "Form up, we should probably sweep the kill zones, if possible.
[09:56:37] GM: as you turn back the haydonite machine tracks on your sensor as moving off to the side and a second esqually large return ascends from behind the discarded hulk
[09:57:24] 2Lt. Sarah blinks at that.
[09:58:54] GM: clearing the hulk a cone like ship appears
[09:59:00] GM: ((pic in AIM))
[09:59:24] GM: it is about 3/4 a km long
[09:59:57] Capt Kain Crockett: ((is it following us?))
[10:01:37] GM: not as yet, but it does disgorge an Invid Clam Ship from it's central…mouth?
[10:03:13] 2Lt. Sarah ummms…. "Holy shit. I'd have to say, that's probably very bad…"
[10:03:17] Capt Kain Crockett: "Well, this is turning into a nightmare."
[10:03:28] Capt Kain Crockett: ((how many nukes left?))
[10:03:45] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Sarah, highly talented at stating the blatantly obvious ))
[10:03:52] GM: The Invid clam ship moves after you as it's bays open and scouts swarm out.
[10:03:59] GM: ((you used them all))
[10:04:07] GM: ((two per plane))
[10:04:12] 2Lt. Sarah checks her cloak.
[10:04:21] GM: Your cloak is active.
[10:04:29] Capt Kain Crockett: ((this is why I said one each, but, meh…))
[10:04:53] 2Lt. Sarah: (( we woulda needed to shoot again to take it out anyway ))
[10:05:29] 2Lt. Sarah ummmms at the ship moving after them. "Check cloaks everyone…"
[10:05:40] Cpt. Aylanea checks her own cloak after the ship was damaged.
[10:05:51] GM: in all truth, you fired one missile at a time, and they would have all been wiped out, it would be jsut to easy for all guns to pick them off one at a time
[10:06:18] Capt Kain Crockett: ((kinda figured.))
[10:06:23] GM: Ay, your cloak…is not functioning, the rend the missile rail dealt has left you exposed.
[10:07:03] Cpt. Aylanea swears into radio. "cloak is dead… I may have to shut down and be carried back by someone…"
[10:07:06] Capt Kain Crockett checks his cloak.
[10:07:12] GM: Kain, your cloak is good
[10:07:19] GM: [1d20-14] => [4,-14] = (-10)
[10:07:20] Capt Kain Crockett: "Do it."
[10:07:46] GM: a beam of green energy lances past you seemingly aimed at Ay, it missed by about 1000 meters
[10:08:05] Cpt. Aylanea switches off primary power quickly, checking the second cloak. (the betas and alphas are both shadow, right?)
[10:08:20] GM: [1d20-14] => [10,-14] = (-4) and [1d20-14] => [17,-14] = (3)
[10:08:37] GM: Yes, both are shadow, Ay you have a dodge to make
[10:08:44] Cpt. Aylanea: (( are both cloaks dead? ))
[10:08:52] Cpt. Aylanea: [1d20+18] => [14,18] = (32) dodge
[10:09:00] GM: the alpha's is dead
[10:09:17] GM: two more beams lance past getting closer and closer every time
[10:09:34] Cpt. Aylanea: (( the CVR is environment sealed, right? hmm… ))
[10:09:38] GM: yes
[10:09:47] Cpt. Aylanea: I don't have time though, do I…
[10:09:50] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hehehe ))
[10:10:48] Cpt. Aylanea tries to give the Beta a course and activate its cloak, then powers the Alpha's engines down. "Maybe this'll work…"
[10:11:13] GM: [1d20-14] => [12,-14] = (-2)
[10:11:39] GM: you complete your work as a green beam sails past missing by about 200 meters
[10:12:15] GM: As soon as the Alpha's engines go cold, the green beams stop, and the Scouts press forward in droves.
[10:12:16] Cpt. Aylanea tells th eBeta autopilot to avoid obstacles and get back to the ship's position, and do not decloak.
[10:13:05] Cpt. Aylanea: (( or isn't the fish with us? ))
[10:13:30] GM: despite their booster packs, the scouts simply cannot match the delta v of a Beta and you are able to outpace them far before they can get into visual let alone firing range.
[10:13:37] GM: what fish?
[10:13:45] Cpt. Aylanea: (( guess not. ))
[10:13:46] Cpt. Aylanea: (( :p ))
[10:16:15] Cpt. Aylanea: (( so do the scouts RTB ? or… hehe ))
[10:16:18] GM: you head back to the planet, as you make your approach some hours later you can see the Havoc's Landing under assault. decending from above it's almost beautiful as beams of energy criss cross beneath you and explosions punctuate the cold winter air like superheated blossoms of plasma and fragments.
[10:16:45] Cpt. Aylanea: (( at some point after they're out of range, Ay would mvoe to the Beta, is why I ask ))
[10:16:55] GM: kk
[10:18:30] Capt Kain Crockett radios to base, "Do you require air support? And where?
[10:18:57] GM: the battle looks in favor of the Havoc, in so much as the enemy is being rebuffed and is having a terrible time advancing on her. Although scads of Cougar and shocktroopers assault the walled fortifications.
[10:20:10] WO1 Summerwind: Shadow Actual, Havoc, good to ehar your voice, um…yeah, if you could divert to section 6 and help out on the south wall, Cougars are trying to flank.
[10:21:22] Capt Kain Crockett: "Understood. Get to the south wall and fire some cougars."
[10:21:55] Capt Kain Crockett: ((brb, bio))
[10:22:12] GM: Approaching where you have been directed, you can see a quartet of Paladin Destroids sweeping the wall, it having been abandonded by it's defenders who have or are falling back to a secondary line 100 meters behind the wall. The gatling cannons on the Paladins are glowing red hot as their pour an unending stream of fire into a zerg of cougars and other invid.
[10:27:29] Cpt. Aylanea: (( any time for me to dump off the uncloakable alpha by the ship or on it? ;) ))
[10:27:54] GM: Up to you
[10:28:21] Cpt. Aylanea does so, since everyone else is going in cloakers. She does not wish to be the target. Nope. She hurries back once the Alpha is dropped off.
[10:29:01] Capt Kain Crockett moves into position and fires a volley of 45 missiles into the swarm. [1d20+5] => [10,5] = (15)
[10:29:08] GM: damage
[10:30:08] Capt Kain Crockett: [2d6*10*45] => 5400
[10:31:22] GM: you light up the entire area, eliminating the cougars, but also elimintating the breatworks as well
[10:31:29] GM: breastworks
[10:33:28] Capt Kain Crockett: "Looks like I'll be helping refortify the place.
[10:33:33] GM: The invid pull back from that location for the time being and the Paladins cease fire. steam wafting from their barrels and even dispite the raging battle wround you you can hear the pop and tink of overheated metal from them .
[10:34:27] Cpt. Aylanea: "It does appear that way,but you got rid of them for the moment anyway."
[10:34:40] UEMC GySgt.: Nice fireworks show zoomie! Sheeit!
[10:34:41] Capt Kain Crockett: "Still have missiles left too."
[10:35:15] UEMC GySgt.: Allright, you broke it, you bought it, push your asses up and stand firm while we get that wall back up!
[10:35:40] UEMC GySgt. waves at the other troopers nearby as well as a few PMC mecha and Colonial boiroids.
[10:35:48] UEMC GySgt.: You too slackers!
[10:35:51] Capt Kain Crockett: "Roger."
[10:36:28] UEMC GySgt. then sets about getting some combat enginners with dozers and a barrel swap out and reload for the paladins
[10:36:38] Cpt. Aylanea hovers up just over the vulnerable spot, checking the EU-13s on the Beta and smiling just a little.
[10:36:43] Capt Kain Crockett hovers in place with Beta and Alpha in Guardian.
[10:37:26] 2Lt. Sarah hovers over as well, checking the EUs on the Alpha and Beta.
[10:37:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( did we onl ytake one destabilizer as mentioned before? ))
[10:37:44] UEMC GySgt.: ((i thought you all took two each))
[10:38:59] 2Lt. Sarah: (( I distinctly remember recommending to someone once that we take ONE destabilizer, and take an EU-13 (the original alpha gun) with that one, then the rest have two 13s. ))
[10:39:33] 2Lt. Sarah: (( the destabilizer is the 15. :p ))
[10:40:22] 2Lt. Sarah: (( anyway ))
[10:40:24] 2Lt. Sarah: (( whatever ))
[10:40:55] GM: (2) Cpt. Aylanea: (( the idea of keeping more conventional stuff passable? And of course, Sarah and Ay want dual EU-13s for the alphas, or if one needs a disruptor, atleast one EU-13 with it. ))
[10:41:06] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yes ))
[10:41:53] 2Lt. Sarah: (( which basically was intended to mean "if Kain is taking a disruptor, and the rest don't, two eu-13s. If the rest need to, then one EU-13 ands one EU-15 (the disrupter) each. ))
[10:42:01] Capt Kain Crockett: ((so yeah, only Kain has a destabilizer))
[10:42:07] GM: kk
[10:42:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. ))
[10:42:59] GM: you push forward past the heap of smoldering rubble that was once a wall sadly, only a few chunks of Invid shocktrooper remain, there is no mass of cougar remains as inorganics dust when killed.
[10:43:22] 2Lt. Sarah checks all four available EU-13s, links them together and adds the nose lasers for good measure on top of it, getting ready.
[10:44:08] GM: as you settle your sensors tell you that you have about 30 targets inbound at about 40mph
[10:44:40] Capt Kain Crockett: "So, Ay or Sarah want to go cathartic missile blasting?"
[10:45:34] Cpt. Aylanea: "Sure…" She pops open the Beta launchers with a giggle, watching for the targets to get into range.
[10:45:39] Cpt. Aylanea: (( they in SRM range? ))
[10:45:55] GM: yes
[10:46:17] Cpt. Aylanea blows off about 20 SRMs quickly. [1d20+3] => [3,3] = (6)
[10:46:20] Cpt. Aylanea: (( pft ))
[10:46:53] GM: roll damamge
[10:46:57] GM: [1d20+5] => [7,5] = (12)
[10:47:20] Cpt. Aylanea: [(2d6*10)*20] => 800
[10:49:02] GM: you half the advance of the 30 Odeon, but dont actuallly kill any of them, just blow off arms and legs in the blast
[10:49:29] Capt Kain Crockett: "Fun.
[10:50:05] 2Lt. Sarah fires 20 missiles then, quickly. [1d20+3] => [8,3] = (11)
[10:50:10] 2Lt. Sarah: [(2d6*10)*20] => 1400
[10:50:12] Capt Kain Crockett fires another 30 missiles from the Beta. [1d20+3] => [13,3] = (16)
[10:50:19] Capt Kain Crockett: [2d6*10*30] => 2400
[10:50:48] GM: wow…well, you kill them all, wasting the missiles on total mobility kills.
[10:51:55] GM: behind you the CE folks start reforming the pallisade
