Chapter 3 - Act III - Part 1

BEGIN LOG

[07:48:10] GM: With the turnover and departure of the captured capital ships the personel from Kokiri depart. A day or so later three UEEF ships defold and approach the base. The RNS Whirlwind, RNS Charger, and RNS Kara; two Hayes Class and one Garfish Class respectivly.
[07:49:39] GM: Predictiablly there are the round of congradulations from upper command although more subdued then that after the liberation of Sala.
[07:51:16] Capt Kain Crockett watches the proceedings from a vid feed, wandering how deep the toilet was this time.
[07:52:17] 2Lt. Sarah frowns a little as she watches, thinking of what was said before, sighing softly.
[07:54:04] GM: On Kokiri we are media darlings, on Garuda praised and thanked for another dealing another 'crippling blow to piracy in the sector' among the UEEF command, there are more mixed emotions, on the one hand there are those that appreciate the ambition and initiative and of course the undeniable blow to the pirates, and then there are those that see our actions as hot dogging, not being a team player and in general being a loose warhead.
[07:54:51] Cpt. Aylanea just shakes her head a little at that.
[07:56:09] GM: Those two camps can, for the most part be divided down party lines between fleet and Marine, but by no means are all on either side in lock step, as there are more thena few supportive fleet captians and grumbling marine colonels.
[07:57:59] Capt Kain Crockett: ((AFK, bio.))
[07:58:25] GM: The three new warships and the Havoc are combined into a flotilla with two ships to guard each end of the 'run' while the installation we captured is refit by SEABEES into a forward operating base for further UEEF operations.
[08:00:09] Capt Kain Crockett: ((back))
[08:01:07] 2Lt. Sarah mans her station quietly for guard duty, paying more attention to the bridge morale than anything else.
[08:01:19] Capt Kain Crockett flies recon for a bit.
[08:03:55] Cpt. Aylanea takes plenty of CAP duty just to keep herself busy.
[08:08:09] Capt. Komillia Maeless listens to the latest virtual idol. God knows the computer generated ones sound better than the "real" ones.
[08:08:24] 2Lt. Sarah splits off time of course between being with Suki, watching whatever she can, and playing video games.
[08:08:39] GM: For the next moth you run patrols and very rarely if ever see any pirate activity, and when you do, the ships either run away, or perform what becomes know as a "Swoop Attack" wherein a pair of enemy capital ships will defold, one within the fold sphere of the other ship, then both will 'Swoop' in on a merchant convoy and once within close proximity to one or more merchant ships the second pirate ship will fold out carrying away the other pirate ship and as much merchant shipping as they can. After the first occurance of that, the Colonel adjusts tactics and a few Swoop attempts are foiled, one comically as the pirate ships, folled by a rigged transponder peg the Havoc as a merchie, oh, the foolishness. During a minor refit back at the captured base, now, after a month, beginning to feel a bit more homey (they finally got rid of that godaweful smell) a dispatch boat arrives with mail, and it is learned that a ship making the Kokiri Garuda run was captured, of note was it's passanger. Gov Farine.
[08:11:58] Capt. Komillia Maeless: ((A politician got captured by pirates? I don't know who to feel worse for.))
[08:12:17] 2Lt. Sarah: (( or got captured by people whoi want to get rid of her, under cover of pirates :p ))
[08:14:07] GM: ((wow, okay, Gov Farnie is the Gov of Kokiri…quite litrally the Havocs biggest fan girl and booster in the sector…))
[08:14:44] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah, I know ))
[08:14:52] Capt. Komillia Maeless: ((Okay so we only want to throw her in a prison in 10 years and skip the firing squad.))
[08:14:55] 2Lt. Sarah: (( that's why I said people who want rid of her under cover of pirates ))
[08:15:02] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[08:15:30] Capt. Komillia Maeless: ((Sorry, my cynicism is acting up, and cream ain't helping.))
[08:16:27] Capt Kain Crockett: "So do we know where on the run she was scooped up, or just 'on the run?'"
[08:17:11] 2Lt. Sarah: "Interesting that the ship of a governor was so unescorted on a run where swoop attacks have been going on."
[08:18:30] Capt Kain Crockett: "Was she on a military vessel or civilian?"
[08:21:07] GM: It was on the leg heading to Garuda, (swoop attacks are happening on the Kokiri Setisar run primarily (the one you are on) that isn't to say that word hasnt gotten around. She was on a Civilian ship, apparently there was a scheduling mishap, either her ship arrived at a transit point to early, or her escort to late, either way, the quartet of Roil escorts her ship folded along with it wasn't suffiiciant to prevent the abduction.
[08:23:33] 2Lt. Sarah pauses at that, listening to it.
[08:24:50] Capt Kain Crockett: "Who was in charge of escorting her? Has someone looked into an intelligence leak? Do we have any information on the Swoop Pirates? Do the Swoop Pirates have a robot pteradactyl for a logo?"
[08:25:46] 2Lt. Sarah breaks up into a gigglefit at the last part.
[08:27:28] 2Lt. Sarah: "Or is there a rival more upstanding gang of swoop jockeys needing assistance to foil the pirate ones?"
[08:28:07] GM: The escort scheduled to arrive was from the GDF, yes, the Kokiri Chief Constable is looking it on her end, and the Kokiri colony has recieved assurances that the GDF is doing there level best to learn just what the heck went so wrong. The Swoop is a tactic that remenants of the various pirate bands employ, but to specifically answer your question, either no, or, if yes, that information hasnt been released as yet. And, fianlly, no.
[08:35:03] 2Lt. Sarah hmms at that. "So, how much is known about the constable? Obviously the GDF isn't 'doing their level best' if they don't like her, depending on the constable's level of support for Farine, and whether she could benefit from being paid off by other factions…" She ponders.
[08:36:51] Capt Kain Crockett: "Are we supposed to be going after these people, or are we just keeping tabs? If we are to go after her do we get more of a clue then the last chicken leg in the bucket?"
[08:38:00] 2Lt. Sarah: "Do we have a known loyal information source who'll help us, or are we hearing things from sources that might not be entirely reliable, or could be leading us into a trap?"
[08:40:52] Capt. Komillia Maeless looks through her little black book to see if she still had Nova Satori's number.
[08:42:20] GM: To answer Kains question, no, that duty hasn't been specifically been given to the Havoc as this occured on a run no longer her responsibility. If you want clue or otherwise intend to do anything, any additional information will have to be requested, or otherwise acquired by you. Regards infomation sources, yes, (komi's lil black book non withstanding) you do have a few contacts in the intelligence department, as well as those upper level network that the Colonel is privvy to.
[08:44:03] Capt Kain Crockett checks his calander (Suki) to make sure there are no jaunts into the Unknown Regions, and then have Komi go about making "informal inquiries."
[08:44:52] GM: Your Caladner (Suki) is incredibly flexible and accomodating.
[08:47:50] GM: There really is no reason for suruptitious behavior aboard ship, you have the Colonel full support, however, she does caution you to keep a low profile regards this when addressing leads and contacts off the ship
[08:48:26] 2Lt. Sarah tries to see if she can help Komi, and see if she can make some of the wordings on the inquries more gentle and more easy to answer. [1d100] => [55] = (55) trust vs. 97% (with whatever penalty if it's not live)
[08:49:34] GM: Also remember that you do have a pretty decent bredth of information about the Kokiri Garuda run as it was your patrol assignment prior to this one.
[08:50:25] Capt. Komillia Maeless reaches out to some old contacts, including Satori, and sees what she can get. [1d100] => [2] = (2) vs 40 Charm/Impress, [1d100] => [9] = (9) vs 55 Public Speaking. [1d100] => [26] = (26) vs 44 Seduction.
[08:50:47] 2Lt. Sarah: (( holy wow Komi ))
[08:52:07] 2Lt. Sarah: (( I'd roll more, but there's just no way I'm gonna outroll that. wow ^_^ ))
[08:53:52] 2Lt. Sarah tries to make sure any inquiries she helps with are properly set up to not be ignored. [1d100] => [44] = (44) vs. 79% military etiquette
[08:54:08] GM: You put out your feelers and are able to get the results of a few in house ONI reports on piracy in the sector, as well as the contact information of ONI's Garuda section chief.
[08:55:51] GM: On the in house report, you recognize a fair amount of it as you (Havoc) were the ones that provided it. However, there are more thena few missing pieces that analysis like the kind found in these kind of reports are able to provide.
[08:56:57] 2Lt. Sarah tries to evaluate the missing pieces in terms of how the overall strategy can be affected, and how to use it to figure out the kidnapping. [1d100] => [60] = (60) tactics vs. 99%, [1d100] => [40] = (40) fleet tactics vs. 69%
[08:59:20] GM: Based on that, there is a selection of planets off the beaten path in the vacinity that support life and a few that housed Shadow Ports and Smugglers Den's. These worlds had been scouted by UEEF Recon teams during the last war as listning posts, possible fleet laagers and other such things.
[08:59:51] WO Febrith Nyx looks over the reports. [1d100] => [22] = (22) vs 63 Intelligence, [1d100] => [29] = (29) vs 83 Anthropology.
[09:00:12] 2Lt. Sarah forwards her results to Nyx to analyze and evaluate as well of course
[09:00:22] GM: Nyx, you are able to whittle the list Sarah provides down to a trio of likely options
[09:01:44] Cpt. Aylanea watches quietly, not sure what she can do, but remarking as a quiet comment to no one in particular that it probably is worthy of montage music.
[09:02:18] Cpt. Aylanea: (( sorry, hard to resist ^_^ ))
[09:02:56] WO Febrith Nyx looks at the triumvirate and passes it to Kain.
[09:04:34] Capt Kain Crockett tries to work out the best way to search. [1d100] => [82] = (82) vs 71 Intelligence, [1d100] => [67] = (67) vs 65 Lore: Colonies, [1d100] => [4] = (4) vs 70 Surveilance, [1d100] => [28] = (28) vs 75 Undercover Ops, [1d100] => [82] = (82) vs 60 Tracking People. ((yeah just going for almost broke))
[09:04:49] Capt Kain Crockett: ((not that it helped much.))
[09:06:10] GM: All three options are within 50 light years of the K-G run, two worlds had been old Republic colonies before the Schism brought destruction to them. The other is in hospitable ball of ice and rock that was the site of a small but brutal battle between Haydonite and UEEF intelligence teams (well, their respective security details rather) the battle resulted in a draw as both factions withdrew the remainder of their assets shortly after.
[09:06:38] GM: ((is an inhospitable…))
[09:06:58] 2Lt. Sarah tries to look at the reports on the places, and see if she can figure out anything trying to read between the lines. [1d100] => [57] = (57) vs. concealment 80%, [1d100] => [44] = (44) public speaking vs. 64%
[09:08:24] GM: The two ruin worlds have more then thier fair share of places to hide, and the reports on the battle on the ice ball has an entry that states that the UEEF intell teams really never did find out how the Haydonites found out they were there.
[09:09:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. ))
[09:09:05] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehehe ))
[09:09:43] 2Lt. Sarah makes notes on some of that, to evaluate…
[09:10:25] Capt Kain Crockett: ((I'm thinking!))
[09:15:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe ))
[09:15:05] 2Lt. Sarah: (( think faster! ^_^ ))
[09:15:31] Capt Kain Crockett: "Alrgith, we have the two known hives of scum and villainy and the realy odd one. The really odd one should be easier if we look for higher than normal heat readings. Just be prepared for those higher than normal heat readings to be the difference of a single degree."
[09:15:49] 2Lt. Sarah nods. "So, Hoth first, you think?"
[09:17:58] GM: Have you selected a target?
[09:18:20] 2Lt. Sarah: (( that's what Sarah was just asking ;) ))
[09:20:42] 2Lt. Sarah: "hmm… it brings up another point though, thinking of it like that… it just a matter of being careful, or will anything need adjusting on the equipment, depending on how extreme cold the iceball is?"
[09:20:55] Capt Kain Crockett: ((I'm gonna say yes, if only because no one is coming up with a better one.))
[09:20:56] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ack, hit enter too quick, were we ever on an all ice world tho? :p ))
[09:21:22] 2Lt. Sarah: (( it's a legit question in extreme environment otherwise :) ))
[09:21:39] Capt Kain Crockett: ((So, if you took Tatooine and Hoth and mashed them together, would you get a reasonable planet with nice weather?))
[09:22:19] GM: ((Hothooine?))
[09:22:59] 2Lt. Sarah: (( rofl ))
[09:23:03] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[09:23:09] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Kira is awesome for lines like that ))
[09:25:11] Capt Kain Crockett: ((yep))
[09:25:55] Capt Kain Crockett: "I assume we let the maintainance crew know and let them deal with it."
[09:26:24] 2Lt. Sarah nods.
[09:27:03] 2Lt. Sarah turns to contact maintenance to update them on extreme environment, forwarding relevant data so they know what needs doing.
[09:31:57] GM: Asyou do that, and the techs ready your gear, you are infomred of the next steps. Since the Havoc cannot leave her patrol route, your team and what mecha you need will be loaded onto one of the Roils you had captured earlier, and has completed it's refit on Corridor Point station. You will join a convoy from Kokiri to Garuda and at the midway point a pair of merchant vessles will fold to the planet in question and drop you off, on their return trip, they will retrieve you. You will be on your own for two standard weeks.
[09:34:05] Capt Kain Crockett: ((How many mecha can we fit? Do we have spare parts? Is there angst in the air, even if it is one part per million? Do we get a technician or do we rely on the mad scientist?))
[09:34:33] 2Lt. Sarah: (( cooool . :) ))
[09:34:44] 2Lt. Sarah: (( rely on the mad scientist ^_^ ))
[09:34:54] 2Lt. Sarah: (( we can't deplete stores much likely. ))
[09:35:16] GM: Up to you, you have the stats on teh Roil handy
[09:35:49] GM: Remember, they aren't exactly small craft, and as you UEEF soldiers are apt to call them "Boiroid Dispensers"
[09:36:24] 2Lt. Sarah: (( so if authed, spares for everyone, and ordinance ^_^ ))
[09:36:27] GM: You also have pretty much all the mecha on the HAvoc at your disposal. Even the Destroids.
[09:36:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oooh ))
[09:37:11] GM: Oh, I think one mecha per person woul dbe sufficiant, you might have the colonel blessing, but even she wont reduce the Havoc over all ability to project force /that/ much
[09:37:49] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol k ))
[09:37:51] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[09:38:30] 2Lt. Sarah: (( just pushing for max possible stuff ~_^ hehe Hrm, what else to bring along other than mechs, any parts, and ordinance… *looks to the command type guy* ))
[09:39:35] 2Lt. Sarah tries to figure out some for herself. [1d100] => [46] = (46) tactics vs. 99%
[09:40:08] 2Lt. Sarah uses whatever she gets from that to make advisement to Kain, if she gets anything from it ^_^
[09:40:31] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Food, water, medical gear, restraints, spending money, trade items, things to pass off as smugglers if need be, disguiises…))
[09:41:16] GM: well, from what you know, the terrain is nasty, the elements harsh, but the Roil shoul dmake for a decent base of operations, if it can survive the cold of space, a figid planet is of no consequense. Your mecha should fare the same, although you may want to take measures to reduce your own heat signature.
[09:42:08] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. ))
[09:42:20] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Proper legal documentation, forged documentation, fake indetities, survival gear, emergency long-distance radios, ECM gear…))
[09:42:29] Capt Kain Crockett: ((GIANT ICE BAGS!))
[09:42:48] 2Lt. Sarah: (( rofl ))
[09:42:51] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah ))
[09:42:52] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehehe ))
[09:44:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( figured a tactical evaluation of mecha needs and whether we might need destroids and whatnot might be good tho ^_^ ))
[09:47:19] 2Lt. Sarah tries to figure fir what kind of mecha would work best, as well, obviously [1d100] => [86] = (86) tactics vs. 99%
[09:47:22] GM: Make your selection, and we'll move forward
[09:47:24] 2Lt. Sarah: (( bleh, shit roll ))
[09:47:26] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol k ))
[09:48:37] Capt Kain Crockett: ((off to not-Hoth, I'll make a list of items when I can find the Roil stats…))
[09:49:13] Capt Kain Crockett: ((no none of my books are in front of me, and I have no idea where I put the masters book as it isn't where I thought I put it…))
[09:49:24] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ack ))
[09:50:04] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Cargo: 1500 tons, 400 long, 120 wide, 75 tall. ))
[09:54:51] 2Lt. Sarah: (( anything else you need statwise for a roil? ))
[09:55:09] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ^_^ ))
[09:57:25] Capt Kain Crockett: ((mecha capacity, I figure 1000 tons for parts and mecha related gear, 250 for other gear, and 250 for food and other essentials.))
[09:58:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( 30-40 bioroids on hoversleds ))
[09:58:17] 2Lt. Sarah: (( the hoversleds are quite a bit bigger around though ))
[09:58:53] 2Lt. Sarah: (( keep mecha in battloid mode and launch that way like the Ikazuchi launch bays, and it might fit more. ))
[09:59:04] 2Lt. Sarah: (( but as general idea of capacity, yeah ))
[09:59:06] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Alrighty…))
[09:59:24] GM: Well, consider that your mecha is at least twice as large as a boiroid, you will still have room
[09:59:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oh. ))
[09:59:38] 2Lt. Sarah: (( forgot how small bioroids were ^_^ ))
[09:59:58] 2Lt. Sarah: (( good thing it has a tall ceiling :D ))
[10:02:16] GM: okay so what take?
[10:03:41] 2Lt. Sarah: (( standard loadout, the GAU-11 instead of EU-15 for the Gamma. ))
[10:04:26] Cpt. Aylanea: (( standard delta loadout here, with recommendation to the CO and exec that we bring some plasma missiles along just in case, considering where we're going. ))
[10:04:42] Cpt. Aylanea: (( small plasma missiles, minis or SRMs, or both :p ))
[10:04:45] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hehe ))
[10:07:16] Cpt. Aylanea: (( Sarah and Ay both take HVAP armmo per normal ^_^ ))
[10:08:11] Capt Kain Crockett: ((I'll take the standard Gamma, Skorpion, and Delta for my characters. missiles will tend to be HEAP or plasma, mostly in the SRM/MRM range with a small stock pile of a couple dozen LRMS, GAU-11D with ammo to spare for Kain, probably two of those…
[10:10:47] Cpt. Aylanea: (( yeah, plenty of spare ammo for the GAUs and for the delta guns. ^_^ ))
[10:11:03] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Nyx will keep her standard gunpod with a GAU-121 for the oddball missions. Several small arms, especially the three versions of the M-90. One back up per. four super cyclones for Nyx and KAin (NOT each, in total), and two Devastators for Komi.
[10:11:44] Cpt. Aylanea: (( yeah, two supers for Sarah and two for Ay if possible as well, just in case, their personal M90c's, ammo for those… ))
[10:13:23] Cpt. Aylanea: (( maybe a few PC cans if they can be spared, as precaution. ))
[10:14:03] Capt Kain Crockett: ((trying to think what else I may need, that wasn't listed above in the "food, water, medical supplies…" speil.))
[10:14:20] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah, a few PC cans at least would be good, pack them next to food with the supplies. ^_^ ))
[10:14:53] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Dammit why is my leftover sandwhich on legs and drinking a carton of milk?))
[10:14:53] 2Lt. Sarah: (( since that' stheir most likely use ;p ))
[10:14:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehehe ))
[10:15:05] 2Lt. Sarah: (( it won't be. lol ))
[10:15:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( or pack it away from food, whichever ))
[10:15:52] GM: okay, so thats what you are bringing?
[10:16:16] 2Lt. Sarah: (( standard survival kits, winter coats obviously for when not in mecha… ))
[10:18:42] Cpt. Aylanea makes sure cocoa and marshmallows get added to the food supplies, of course ^_^
[10:19:21] Cpt. Aylanea: (( how many PC cans would we be allowed along anyway? ))
[10:19:45] Cpt. Aylanea: (( if there's no shortage… ^_^ ))
[10:19:49] Capt Kain Crockett: ((for now, didn't know i'd be planning on packing list.))
[10:20:02] Cpt. Aylanea: (( anyway… lol ))
[10:20:46] GM: Nice to know that Ay packs the essentials…
[10:20:53] Cpt. Aylanea: (( lol ))
[10:21:12] GM: All right.
[10:21:28] Cpt. Aylanea makes sure to pack extra underthings and stuff ofo course, too. ;p And makes sure Sarah doesn't forget anything she needs on that line.
[10:21:57] Cpt. Aylanea: (( anyway ))
[10:22:01] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ))
[10:22:07] Cpt. Aylanea: (( end weirdness ))
[10:22:48] GM: You get dropped off at Corridor Point, board your Roil and join the merchies. The mercies are some of the same fellows that you helped earlier, and who helped Komi escape SP justice after she was KOed in her ill fated bar brawl.
[10:23:13] GM: Needless to say, they are more then willing to help out the cause.
[10:26:39] GM: You fold out and at the midway point the merchie duo ferry you to your target and then depart complete with hearty laughter and rousing smack talk
[10:26:53] Cpt. Aylanea: (( I'm assuming to save personnel, we need to fly the roil, right? ^_^ ))
[10:27:05] Cpt. Aylanea: (( it's a small/medium type ship after all ^_^ ))
[10:27:24] Cpt. Aylanea: (( just as a random ))
[10:27:26] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hehe ))
[10:27:28] GM: You have enough troops abaord the Havoc to have at least some NPC's along with you for such things as piloting, and repair work.
[10:27:34] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ah, okay ^_^ ))
[10:28:47] 2Lt. Sarah: (( *bonks Ay fro mbehind* No, you don't get to try doing barrel rolls with the transport. :p ))
[10:30:02] 2Lt. Sarah: (( anyway ))
[10:30:15] Capt Kain Crockett: (("Fox))
[10:30:21] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol.. ))
[10:30:23] Capt Kain Crockett: (("Fox! I need help! Fox!"))
[10:32:43] 2Lt. Sarah: (( anyway…. ))
[10:33:20] GM: Okay, so you are in teh system, it may be pirates, they use these types of systems all the time…or, it could be rebel? you dont know, either way, you are in orbit.
[10:33:53] Cpt. Aylanea tries to use sensors to chart temperature variations, [1d100] => [87] = (87) RSI vs. 88%
[10:33:56] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ow ))
[10:33:58] Capt Kain Crockett: ((launch the probes. And make sure to include the anal ones. 2 out of every 3 pirates like those.))
[10:34:48] Cpt. Aylanea: (( rofl ))
[10:35:24] Capt Kain Crockett looks over the planet and tries to stay "hidden". [1d20+1] => [19,1] = (20) PERC, [1d100] => [57] = (57) vs 70 RSI, [1d100] => [20] = (20) vs 75 ECM, [1d100] => [2] = (2) vs 70 Surveilance, [1d100] => [22] = (22) vs 71 Intelligence
[10:36:14] GM: Wow, another stright flush
[10:36:46] WO Febrith Nyx does her own analysis, including looking for fold traces. [1d20+1] => [6,1] = (7) PERC, [1d100] => [64] = (64) vs 53 RSI, [1d100] => [41] = (41) vs 83 Astrophysics, [1d100] => [31] = (31) vs 63 Intelligence
[10:39:28] GM: You pick up a sensor sweep, burst, very short, aimed in the vacinity of where you defolded. It dances around a bit, like a phased array but you are able to mask your presence. The beam shuts down. You realize that had you not been expecting it, you would have missed it, such was the short duration of the sweep. You are able to determine the emitter source with a margin of error of no more then a 20 km radius.
[10:39:36] GM: ((afk bio))
[10:41:13] Cpt. Aylanea: (( kk ))
[10:41:32] 2Lt. Sarah frowns. "So someone is watching." she sighs. "Question becomes who."
[10:43:12] WO Febrith Nyx: "The bigger question is do we care who they are? If they have who we seek, then it's time to blow doors down. Otherwise, leave them alone."
[10:43:55] 2Lt. Sarah: "that's the problem, we don't know if they have the one we seek…" She frowns.
[10:44:44] GM: Nope you sure dont.
[10:45:14] 2Lt. Sarah: "Also, depending on who it is, and if they're hostile, the tactics change significantly."
[10:45:24] GM: Hoever, nyx, your Intell roll on your anal ass iss, tells you that the radar is mil spec.
[10:45:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[10:45:37] Capt. Komillia Maeless looks over the bursts for any signs of cryptograms. [1d100] => [78] = (78) vs 30 Cryptography. [1d100] => [57] = (57) vs 90 Radio Basic.
[10:47:08] GM: There are no radio transmissions to look over.
[10:50:33] WO Febrith Nyx: "It was military that scanned us."
[10:50:51] GM: ((I didnt say that, I said the radar was mil spec))
[10:51:38] WO Febrith Nyx: "It was military-grade that scanned us."
[10:51:59] 2Lt. Sarah frowns and nods.
[10:52:59] 2Lt. Sarah: "Mmmhmm…" She ponders. "Think we should approach the area the scan came from, from groundside, to avoid early detection?"
[10:55:59] Capt Kain Crockett: "The ECM should hold, and the fact that it was a burst says that they aren't interested in being detected either. So we should do a couple orbital flybys as if we were just exploring and get a visual bead on it. Odds are they didn't see us and won't be looking for us. And continuing to look for us will only broadcast their location so it's in their best interest not to keep with broadcast beams."
[10:56:34] 2Lt. Sarah hmms and nods quickly. "Understood."
[10:59:21] Capt Kain Crockett: ((sorry, kinda fading a bit…))
[10:59:28] GM: You make a few flybys but due to teh terrain and weather, you cant pick out any radar dishes or things like that.
[10:59:50] GM: ((nod, we will call it here, since it is 9….the Shield will be down in moment, you may begin your landing))
[11:00:09] 2Lt. Sarah sighs. "Too bad some things are too visible to use. I keep thinking some days that if I could recon something in energy form, it might work better…" She shrugs. "Eh, maybe not."
[11:00:41] GM: Be happy they dont fire a Boob Nipple gun at you
[11:01:59] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[11:02:06] GM: ((I have to say, I do love the SFX for the Ion Cannon))
[11:02:20] GM: ((I mean, that has authority behind it))
[11:02:39] 2Lt. Sarah: (( definitely ^_^ ))
[11:02:40] 2Lt. Sarah: hehehe
[11:04:07] GM: ((big honking ass blue bolts of Fuck You))
[11:04:14] 2Lt. Sarah: ,yup
[11:04:15] 2Lt. Sarah: hehehehehe
[11:04:20] 2Lt. Sarah: it was tres awesome
