Chapter 3 - Act I - Part 3

BEGIN LOG

[07:07:12] GM: okay, so you should have questions about the next objective
[07:07:42] GM: so hit me with the ones you have that are answerable without having to fold on out to take a look (which will happen later)
[07:07:52] 2Lt. Sarah: lol
[07:08:15] GM: lol isnt a question,
[07:09:55] 2Lt. Sarah: will we have the super heavy ordinance available for the Deltas for this?
[07:10:46] GM: I think thtas putting the cart before the horse, but I'd like to think that if you need such ordinace, that the captain will be amenable…the new CAG on the other hand, might be a ballbuster…
[07:12:22] 2Lt. Sarah: >
[07:12:34] 2Lt. Sarah: gonna punish me for moving Ay back into the field, huh?
[07:12:35] 2Lt. Sarah: :p
[07:12:36] 2Lt. Sarah: hmph
[07:12:42] James: What's the denisty of the asteroid field? Cinematic or realistic?
[07:13:50] GM: as was seen in the picture earlier, so, I figure by that definition, it would be cinematic
[07:14:21] LV (enter): 19:14
[07:14:44] 2Lt. Sarah: the picture is linked on the log for the previous session
[07:14:45] GM: Base
[07:15:24] GM: @ carrie regards Ay: Consequences and repurcussions m'dear
[07:16:12] 2Lt. Sarah: You probably didn't want her there then anyway, since she'd be pretty easy about allowing it
[07:16:13] 2Lt. Sarah: :p
[07:16:16] 2Lt. Sarah: lol
[07:16:44] GM: Yeah…"Attacking a mud hut armed by two bowman? Sure, have a reflex warhead, in fact, have two!"
[07:16:58] 2Lt. Sarah: LOL
[07:18:11] Cpt. Aylanea: "hmm, big base. Better take stock on all the cool stuff! Lesse. Reflex Multi… Reflex… proton torps… what all else we gonna need. Big base, need to get enough planes loaded with em too." *starts scribbling numbers and arm-ups on clipboard with excessive large warheads*
[07:18:56] Capt Kain Crockett: "Do we have an estimate on expected ship/mecha/tropp strength?"
[07:19:30] Capt Kain Crockett: "Also are we looking to capture or kill?"
[07:21:52] GM: We are looking at capture, and there is an indeterminate amount of pirates present. You can expect at least one guard ship, as for ground forces, if the pirates are lax, feeling that the base is well hidden then, the defense's within could be rather light, if they are the paramoid sort, it could be rather formidable, either way, they will have the home court advantage.
[07:22:46] GM: The intell you do have indicates a defended approach
[07:25:11] Capt Kain Crockett: "Alright people make sure you have your S-11 SD-Systems. Also you must into String, anything less is BETA."
[07:25:21] GM: kekeke
[07:26:44] Capt Kain Crockett: "Do we have fall back positions and alternate plans in case this goes south? I'm talking space mexico level south…"
[07:28:00] GM: The Havoc will be the jump off and egress point
[07:28:21] GM: since she will be the fold capable platform you have
[07:28:55] GM: otherwise the backup plan to the backup plan is get han Solo close to the 'roids and wait it out.
[07:29:52] Cpt. Aylanea: brb
[07:29:58] GM messes with three pages of notes, a-yup
[07:30:11] GM makes that 5
[07:30:22] GM: (I forgot I printed them 2 sided
[07:32:01] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: O.O
[07:32:13] Capt Kain Crockett: "What manner of gear are we expected to assault with? Are we to go in and capture the bridge after securing the hangar and leaving our cyclones?"
[07:32:36] Capt Kain Crockett: *leaving in our cyclones and securing the mecha?
[07:34:11] GM: the base is Zent sized
[07:34:17] GM: so…
[07:34:39] GM: remember the opening you see in the pic is able to hold four, count em FOUR Tou redir
[07:35:46] GM: as was indicated last session, based on the intell analysis, this used to be a Gnerl base during the Civil War
[07:36:35] LtJG Rain Silver: " should i ready a wing of ghosts to play the part of overwatch for the airspace surrounding our objective? "
[07:37:25] GM: (good idea)
[07:39:21] Capt Kain Crockett: ((AFK, bio and hollering…))
[07:39:37] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( are you hollering at the bio? ))
[07:40:28] GM: ((it burns! it BURNS!))
[07:41:14] Cpt. Aylanea: (( sorry ))
[07:41:16] Cpt. Aylanea: (( lol ))
[07:41:39] Cpt. Aylanea: the base is /totally/ Zent sized then?
[07:41:41] GM: okay carrie, anything to add?
[07:41:43] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( yeah i'd probably holler about it too lol ))
[07:41:49] GM: come on now, I know you are just holding back
[07:41:49] Cpt. Aylanea: as in, we can run around with mecha all the way to the bridge?
[07:41:57] Cpt. Aylanea: wee
[07:42:13] Cpt. Aylanea: be a good chance to use planes in battloid mode rather than running around with Cycs
[07:42:55] GM: by and large yes, however, DO expect that since this place has now been infested with micronian pirates, that some aspects have been retrofit to accomodate micronians. Take that intell as you will.
[07:43:30] GM: I'll lay the hint out that, that is not necessarily a bad thing, nor is it a good thing.
[07:44:38] GM: Of course, again, cart before the horse, before you can do anything ON or IN the base, you have to get TO the base.
[07:45:33] GM: that is unless part of the group is dealing with the inside while another part is dealing with the approach at which point I will hush
[07:45:43] Capt. Komillia Maeless: "Unless they're prisoners in the micronian sections, fire from a gunpod should be sufficient to "clear the room".
[07:46:59] GM: ((I'll allow for 15 more minutes o planning before ishida come into play…but ooooo if I think you are running out the clock I will be so put out!))
[07:47:15] LtJG Rain Silver: " If need be i could accompany you in the field, we could load bloodhounds on board a scorpian for transport should we need to scout any micronian areas and i should be able to monitor and control them from there…no?"
[07:48:09] Capt. Komillia Maeless runs out the clock.
[07:48:25] GM: ((we will call that Operation Puppy Power, but since Suki will NEVER say that on an open mic, she will reffer to it as Operation Papa Duce))
[07:48:44] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: LMAO
[07:49:28] Capt Kain Crockett: "good idea silver. Also make sure we get leg marines into the area too, secure places as we move forward so we do not have tobe constantly watching out backs.
[07:49:30] Cpt. Aylanea: rofl
[07:49:42] Cpt. Aylanea: (( rofl )) even
[07:49:55] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ooh, run out the clock. thatreminds me ))
[07:50:00] Capt Kain Crockett: "Also take out Engineering first, leave them without power and see how many are willing to fight.
[07:50:14] GM: ((As an aside, those that have leveled, well you've had ample time to adjust your sheet, so…))
[07:51:14] Cpt. Aylanea: (( oops ))
[07:51:25] GM: ((uh huh))
[07:51:26] Cpt. Aylanea: (( I have my offline one leveled right, and my bonuses scribbled up ))
[07:52:06] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver leans in the doorway listening taking a drag off a freshly lit cigerette " well i dont imagine ill have a crows nest but ill do what i can. Out of curiosity i didnt notice any alpha wings in the bay, do we have any on board? "
[07:52:42] GM: okay so I fell you have a decent handle on the innards portion, btu I'm interested ont eh approach (and so is your cpatian because, well, that effects the Havoc, and well, she is you meal ticket, and your ride so…protect her))
[07:53:14] WO1 Summerwind snatches the cig from Silvers mouth.
[07:53:25] WO1 Summerwind: No smoking indoors EllTee.
[07:53:51] Cpt. Aylanea glances over. "Most of us who used to use Alphas are using Deltas now…" She frowns.
[07:55:06] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver frowns at that for a moment but sighs and offers a smirk " next there will be no drinking and no sex, honestly i think my little brother is getting to you all " laughing light heartidly " then blinks " oh, delta's, well at least they have sex appeal "
[07:55:33] WO1 Summerwind: Hardly, plenty of the later going around, but still no somking aboard Ell Tee."
[07:56:13] Cpt. Aylanea laughs and blushes softly at Anji's response, grinning just a little.
[07:57:08] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: " Well I'll try to remember that, "
[07:57:18] Capt Kain Crockett: "WE have the Havoc play long range indirect fire role. We get someone to tage the base and the havoc fires missiles in an indirect fashion as to cause havoc on the base. We then have a squad take out any bombers and interceptors launched before we scour the surface taking out any turrets we find before invading."
[07:57:30] WO1 Summerwind: See that you do Ell Tee.
[07:57:51] WO1 Summerwind gives her a 'Seriously, I'm not shitting you' look on her face.
[07:57:59] 2Lt. Sarah even blushes at Anji saying that plenty of drinking and sex goes on.
[07:58:26] GM: In anime fashion, on the bridge, Suki sneezes.
[07:59:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( rotfl ))
[07:59:32] WO1 Summerwind: Sounds good there Cap'n, but isnt the terrain a lil tight for missiles?
[08:00:03] WO1 Summerwind: That and we havent a DAMN clue as to whats guarding that thing.
[08:00:21] WO1 Summerwind: Silvers onto somthing with his drones, sneak and peek.
[08:00:34] WO1 Summerwind shrugs.
[08:00:55] LtJG Rain Silver sighs " ah cant you knock it off sis you'r just going to get yourself in trouble " he frowns his sister just closing her eyes and leaning against the wall. Rain continues " we can use the drones to not only map out the defenses but also i believe we may be able to utilize them for indirect targeting "
[08:01:16] WO1 Summerwind: Thats my little fleeter!
[08:01:27] WO1 Summerwind musses Rains hair.
[08:01:46] LtJG Rain Silver blushes at that
[08:03:07] Capt Kain Crockett: "Which is why we go in their and tag the place first, it also gives us a quick looks as to what might be their. If their is a big ship, we draw it away and literally nuke the bastard. We're here to capture the base, I have no intention on wasting time and energy capturing the ship as well. Any ships get the Reflex Multi-warhead and Angel of Death treatment."
[08:03:44] LtJG Rain Silver: " of course we may have to outfit them with a flir pod if possible, and even then im not sure if they have a laser designator built into them. Im afraid im not very familiar with the system "
[08:04:06] 2Lt. Sarah nods at Crockett's statement.
[08:04:27] LtJG Rain Silver blinks at crockett's statement " oh… "
[08:04:31] WO1 Summerwind: No worries, well, lets get what we have up the chain, I'm pretty sure the bosslady has been burning both ends sice she got back from kokiri.
[08:05:10] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: " now thats what i like to hear captain, lets napalm the aunts " she laughs
[08:05:19] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: ants*
[08:06:52] GM: After the info and planning you have is taken up the cahin you are told to train for the next 24 hours.
[08:07:52] GM: Later, section heads are called tot eh pilots ready room, for a brief.
[08:08:02] Capt Kain Crockett formulates "room clearing" exercises with mecha and has the squad go through them six times over, break and then it do for 12…
[08:08:25] Lt.Col Ishida: …Be seated.
[08:08:37] Capt Kain Crockett sits at attention.
[08:08:44] Capt. Komillia Maeless sits.
[08:08:51] WO Febrith Nyx lounges.
[08:08:52] Lt.Col Ishida: Here is the outline for the upcoming operation.
[08:09:03] 2Lt. Sarah sits up and pays full attention.
[08:09:17] Cpt. Aylanea leans forward, rubbing hands.
[08:09:19] WO1 Summerwind smacks Nyx upside the back of the head.
[08:10:02] WO Febrith Nyx mouths the word "video release" to Anji.
[08:10:22] WO1 Summerwind mouths back 'like I care."
[08:10:50] Lt.Col Ishida continues
[08:13:18] Lt.Col Ishida: The Havoc will fold in roughly half a light year out from the objective using the terrain as cover. Once we are within resonable distance we will lauch a slvo of drones to interrogate the enemy defences. Once we have a better look at their redoubt we will adjust the plans we have already drawn up accordingly. I estimate there will be at least a three day transit time between defold and drone launch. Section heads, use this time to drill your men on ALL contingincies.
[08:14:03] Lt.Col Ishida: I will now entertain pertinant questions only.
[08:14:24] Lt.Col Ishida looks about the room
[08:15:06] Lt.Col Ishida: Very well then.
[08:15:33] GM: The colonel and her party leave and the room is dismissed upon her exit.
[08:16:38] Capt Kain Crockett: ((sorry, just realized I still have a few discussion posts that need doing, so mildly distracted, nto that I had a question that hasn't already been covered.))
[08:17:00] GM: Miss Silver, you note that the Col, wears Diasho.
[08:18:12] Capt Kain Crockett gets into his gamma and has everyone form up, "Alright, we'll be splitting into two flights. I'll lead one and Lt. Ahmdahl will lead the other. Amdahl, please give out the wingman and team assignments, if you will."
[08:18:30] GM: Yraining?
[08:18:36] GM: Training..
[08:20:32] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Yes, training will occur, HOWEVER, I'd like them to know who they should be training with…))
[08:20:38] GM: kk
[08:20:49] Capt Kain Crockett: ((And if Carrie doesn't start picking names soon, I'll do it myself.))
[08:21:16] GM: Miss Silver, regards your Delta training. You end up being partnered with of all people the Col, who is running thru her re-quals.
[08:21:56] LtJG Rain Silver: lol
[08:22:07] LtJG Rain Silver: (( diasho? two swords? ))
[08:22:31] GM: I'm not going to bother with rolls, she is a harsh mistress, and rapes you, repeatedly. You have incredible talent, but she has that, as well as experiance born of years of combat.
[08:22:34] GM: ((yes))
[08:23:03] LtJG Rain Silver: (( kk ))
[08:23:44] Capt Kain Crockett: ((he doesn't want to do the rolls on the off chance he gets nothing but ones while Vittoria gets nothing but 20s…))
[08:23:55] GM: ((lol))
[08:23:59] Capt Kain Crockett: ((j/k))
[08:24:02] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver smiles at that " this should be interesting "
[08:24:14] GM: ((or vice versa))
[08:24:33] GM: ((read above miss silver))
[08:24:49] GM: it is indeed interesting, and illuminating.
[08:25:23] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( wait lol, what part are you refering too ))
[08:25:49] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( ^_^ im so lonst now and all it took was "read above miss silver" ))
[08:26:01] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: ((lonst - lost*))
[08:26:10] Capt Kain Crockett: "Alright, as my XO seems to have strep throat, I'll be the wingleader for the newbie, Amdahl will get Maeless, Ay with Nyx. Have I forgotten anyone?
[08:26:19] GM: Beyond the very in depth training you get on the Delta, (she does in fact train you very hard) you realize that she is NOTHING like any Fleet captian you have met, she's as much at home in the cockpit as she is on teh bridge.
[08:27:07] GM: ((yes Kain, the noob is with Ishida since they are both 'Delta jocks'
[08:27:16] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( oh lol ))
[08:27:50] Capt Kain Crockett: "Scratch my earlier two flights, we don't have the numbers for it."
[08:28:18] GM: ((just insert NPC pilot. Mook A and Mook B
[08:28:40] Capt Kain Crockett: ((for the entirety of the op or just the training?))
[08:28:47] GM: ((training))
[08:29:19] GM: You will get Miss Silver during the op, she is just being… 'educated' in the proper suage of a Delta during the training period
[08:29:48] Capt Kain Crockett: "Actually, Sergeant Rid'shert and Private Zaku you'll be with me on the first flight, the others will be in flight 2."
[08:31:23] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hehe ))
[08:31:42] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver has decided in her training with the commander that she is a more then some bitch but a hell hound in heat on the battlefield ! ^_^ lol
[08:32:01] GM: That would be a fair assessment
[08:32:44] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( think that sum's it up no rolls necessary ? lol ))
[08:32:58] GM: You also note that she for the most part, dispences with the bullshit and gives wyou hwat you really need to know about the Delta, at some points bordering ont he critical of the airframe.
[08:33:03] Cpt. Aylanea: (( lol. raped. ^_^ ))
[08:33:06] Cpt. Aylanea: (( afk a feqw ))
[08:34:05] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( ^_^ ))
[08:34:07] GM: ((basically put, the Delta is MADE for folks with the high PP, but watch you ass, becuase if you are hit, you are likely to be proper fucked.
[08:34:56] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( so it suits vittoria ~_^ ))
[08:35:40] Capt Kain Crockett: ((People with HTH: Commando have a decent time with it, like Nyx who probably has amongst the lowest PP in the group, despite being an Elf…))
[08:35:43] GM: ((well as Ay knows very well, with such high stats, when you do end up getting hit, it's usually with a nat 20)
[08:36:59] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( i took h2h MA ))
[08:37:05] GM: ((and a Nat 20, well mess up your entire day.))
[08:37:46] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( though i mainly plan on taking the sniper roll when we are on the ground whenever possible ~_^ ))
[08:40:05] GM: Okay, you train, and train, and then train some more.
[08:40:14] LtJG Rain Silver: " um… " piping up " can i get some flight training in Capt., I know I'm not a very good pilot but i do have some flight experience in a VF/A-6E, though i dont imagine i'd be use to you in the field in such a way i would enjoy the training "
[08:41:22] Capt Kain Crockett: "Anything in particular you want to learn to fly?"
[08:41:43] Capt Kain Crockett: "I'm not sure we have outdated airframes like the Alpha on board."
[08:42:06] Lt.Col Ishida: Put him in a Gamma.
[08:43:21] LtJG Rain Silver blinks at that then bows his head to the Lt. Col " Thank you colonel i much appreciate it, i promiss i am a rather quick learner "
[08:44:29] Lt.Col Ishida nods, then puts her beret on in her CVR-5 and Komi just cant get the image of a ship captian in Gundam out of her head.
[08:44:46] LtJG Rain Silver: lol
[08:44:54] Capt Kain Crockett takes the kid down, "I'll get you up to speed while your sister gets her ass handed to her by the Col.
[08:45:14] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: " really that runt needs to stay on the bridge where it's safe " she mutters
[08:45:15] Lt.Col Ishida smirks knowingly.
[08:46:13] GM: I'll amend the prior line, based on Miss Sivlers latest to rad Estra Raped, instead of raped.
[08:46:18] GM: ((Extra))
[08:46:29] LtJG Rain Silver: lmao
[08:47:26] Cpt. Aylanea: (( back ))
[08:47:30] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hehe ))
[08:47:37] GM: You know the sounds kids make after being spanked? the classic "Hffmmm hfffmm hfffmm!" sounds? Yeah, it's like that.
[08:47:51] LtJG Rain Silver: lol
[08:48:20] Cpt. Aylanea: (( rofl ))
[08:48:23] LtJG Rain Silver: (( idk, may be more of an oh and oo sound lol ))
[08:48:40] LtJG Rain Silver: (( THANK YOU SIR MAY I PLEASE HAVE ANOTHER! ))
[08:48:42] LtJG Rain Silver: (( ^_^ ))
[08:48:43] Cpt. Aylanea: (( roflroflrofl ))
[08:48:55] Capt Kain Crockett: ((LOL))
[08:49:17] GM: ((Honestly, how you would 'type' that sound out, I have no clue, but I think we have all heard and or made it at sometime in our lives so…))
[08:49:40] LtJG Rain Silver: (( lol ))
[08:51:04] GM: ((I know I've made that sound. And, on some perverse level, take pride in the fact that my mother would up breaking the wooden spoon upon my ass. A little victory, but fleeting, as she had many wooden spoons…))
[08:51:38] Cpt. Aylanea: o.o
[08:51:42] Cpt. Aylanea: (( eek ))
[08:52:21] GM: ((dont knock coperal punishment, "Thou shalt be glad of thy masters punishemnt, for it IS deserved, and it improves thee."
[08:52:48] LtJG Rain Silver: (( had to give my daughter her meds… im back now ))
[08:53:32] GM: ((wanna scare her stright…save the slast few lines and print them out…she be all 'They are OK with that! Oh crud!"
[08:53:37] LtJG Rain Silver: (( lol, my mom use to do that… dad used the rabbit ears! ))
[08:53:42] LtJG Rain Silver: (( that sick bastard lol ))
[08:54:14] GM: ((mom had a GREAT eastern european methid, uncooked and dry beans, and you were to knell on them.
[08:54:25] GM: kneel
[08:54:43] LtJG Rain Silver: (( O.O ))
[08:54:49] GM: yup!
[08:55:09] LtJG Rain Silver: (( no thank you the invisible chair and the pow's were bad enough :P ))
[08:55:16] GM: heheh
[08:55:32] GM: yeah, I was all, yeah theat aint shit… then, I kneeled…
[08:55:40] LtJG Rain Silver: lol
[08:55:51] Capt Kain Crockett: ((I'll stick to making the kid stand at attention for an hour reading the rules posted on the wall.))
[08:56:16] GM: what? "The beatings will continue until morale improves/" ?
[08:56:41] GM: funny thing is, that saying actually hold a fair bit of truth to it.
[08:56:46] GM: ANYway
[08:56:54] GM: wow, that was one hell of a tangent
[08:57:16] GM: Okay, so, you train and train, and then eventually, drone launch time arrives.
[08:59:20] LtJG Rain Silver sets X number of drones up to blanket and fan out across the designated area overlaping their maximum detection range ( picture the olympic rings and thats what im going for,) anything that enters one's detection range another moves in to get a second view (stand by getting the rolls set up :P )
[08:59:28] Capt Kain Crockett sits and watches the drones to see what comes up.
[08:59:41] LtJG Rain Silver: (( well ill roll them when you ask for them :P ))
[08:59:42] GM: roll skills
[09:01:57] LtJG Rain Silver: [1d100] => [11] = (11) vs 60% RSI [1d100] => [16] = (16) vs 65% AEW [1d100] => [83] = (83) vs 45% detect ambush [1d100] => [38] = (38) vs 30% detect concealment [1d20] => [12] = (12) perception [1d100] => [51] = (51) vs 59% intelegence [1d100] => [27] = (27) vs 85% radio basics
[09:04:36] GM: Your initial scans tell you two things. 1, the base is cloistred in the asteroid belt version of a cul-de-sac, with a single approach large enough for ships. 2, that there is definatly something out there on those rocks.
[09:06:40] LtJG Rain Silver: (( on the asteroids surrounding the base or on the base itself? ))
[09:08:33] GM: the asteroids around the base and the approach
[09:09:13] Capt Kain Crockett: "Okay, so there is something out there, can we get another sweep to look for this elusive stalker before we pepper the area with high-yield nuclear weapons?"
[09:11:48] LtJG Rain Silver: " sir i've located the base within the astroid belt but it looks like any attempt down the main trench approaching the base will prove rough, do you think we can aproach with smaller craft through the astroid field? it may help us hide both ourselves and our numbers should or approach be detected. at least until we can clear the path "
[09:13:22] Lt.Col Ishida: Helm hold position here, and tuck us in closer to one of the larger asteroids. Mr. Silver, pull all but a solo drone back and us it to take a closer look.

[09:18:37] GM: As teh solo drone moves deeped into the field, Silve can notice CONEX sized structures affixed to some of the asteroids.

[09:28:31] 2Lt. Sarah: (( *weeps* I'm stupid ))
[09:29:08] GM: Kain: you can tell taht the CONEX structures are likely some sort of pop up defense system, and the conex casing you are looking at is there to protect it from micro meteroites as well as radar detection ( not so good against optics, but heym you cant have it all)
[09:30:01] GM: Sarah: The placement of these thing confirms the gut feeling that all must have at this point, it is certianly an ambush.
[09:30:16] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: (( lol ))
[09:30:57] GM: Nyx: Yes, mines and stuf like this are very common, and, speaking of mines, what are those smaller devices floating around the larger ones that no one has noticed yet! Oh dear!
[09:31:08] Capt Kain Crockett: "The CONEXes are defenses. You need to blow them up before sending anyone through.

[09:35:00] WO Febrith Nyx: "Get them to fire at the mines…"
[09:37:14] Lt.Col Ishida: Testing their defences would give away our position prematurely.
[09:37:58] Lt.Col Ishida: I would like to get a better idea as to their numbers and depth before we announce our arrival.

[09:47:55] GM: Silver: Nothing really new on your end, but, hey, you are keeping the drone off the scopes.
[09:48:19] GM: Sarah: You notice a dark circular hole on one of the larger asteroids.
[09:48:20] Cpt. Aylanea: (( and doing it as the wrong silver too ;p ))
[09:48:22] Cpt. Aylanea: (( lol ))
[09:48:34] 2Lt. Sarah points the hole out, of course
[09:48:53] GM: Ay: More hurr durr.
[09:49:14] Cpt. Aylanea: (( gerr ))
[09:49:37] GM: Kain: based on what Sarah points out, you are able to determines it's a bore hole of some sort, definatly 'man made'
[09:50:02] GM: Nyx, you arent sure what it is, but you kow it aint good.
[09:50:26] GM: The hole is roughly 50 foot by 50 foot.
[09:51:21] Capt Kain Crockett: "Those holes are man made, if I were to hazard a guess, I'd say they were either mecha launch tubes or micro version of the Grand Cannon."
[09:52:42] Lt.Col Ishida: Hmm, take the drone in if you please Mr Silver. Pardon the pun, but, lets get to teh bottom of this.
[09:53:17] GM: A few folks on the bridge snicker at the dry humor.
[09:53:23] 2Lt. Sarah: "Any chance they might have captured any decommissioned equipment from the war? Like maybe synchros dismantled from the sabotaging?"
[09:54:19] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: " how close would you like me to get Col.? "
[09:54:29] 2Lt. Sarah: (( thought rain was the one who flew the ghost ))
[09:54:31] 1st Lt. Vittoria Silver: " if you like i can have them run the gauntlet "
[09:54:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( not tori ))
[09:54:43] Lt.Col Ishida: It's possible, although, when the UEEF tried to disect the device it nearly exploded on Lang's scientists. I would hazard a guess that these pirates would be less adept then he.
[09:54:43] LtJG Rain Silver: " how close would you like me to get Col.? "
[09:54:46] LtJG Rain Silver: " if you like i can have them run the gauntlet "

[09:55:26] LtJG Rain Silver: " aye aye ma'am "
[09:55:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( thought the majority were just uninstalled, not dissected. :p lol ))
[09:55:41] LtJG Rain Silver has the drone run the gauntlet quietly and cautiously mapping it out

[09:56:42] GM: ((Lang's team tried to 'crack' a synchro cannon open in Prelude to YTSC, and almost blew themselves up)) And Rain, down the rabbit hole, means down the bore hole.
[09:57:05] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oh, ah. ))
[09:57:16] Capt Kain Crockett analyzes the holes (something he got better at after getting married). [1d20+1] => [5,1] = (6) PERC, [1d100] => [23] = (23) vs 85 RSI, [1d00] => [1] = (1) vs 71 Intelligence, [1d100] => [43] = (43) vs 65 Detect Ambush.

[09:58:11] WO Febrith Nyx: ((wait that was an RSI, but still…))
[09:59:10] GM: Kain, as the drone penetrates deeper, and deeper, thrusting into the opening long and hard…you see something at the end of it that gives you a chill. It seems, nestled deep within the center of this asteroid is enough explosivesto not only crack it open, but to shower an area .5 km in radius with ship killing debris.
[10:00:30] GM: And, if there is one, there are probobly more.
[10:00:38] GM: [1d100] => [54] = (54)
[10:00:38] GM: [1d100] => [49] = (49)
[10:00:38] GM: [1d100] => [91] = (91)
[10:03:18] Capt Kain Crockett: "And we can add the asteroids themselves to the list of mines. Why doesn't the havoc have a reflex cannon."
[10:03:42] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Or a ship-grade Type 99 Electromagnetic Radiation Rail gun?))
[10:03:48] Lt.Col Ishida: Mr Silver, keep the drone looking, your job is now to pinpoint more traps such as these and that 'CONEX'. We will not be running that approach at this time, it would be far to dangerous, their static defences are far to layered. We have only two options left to us. We either infiltrate in mecha and secure the base, and the defences along with it, or we punch our own hole thru the more tightly packed asteroids.
[10:07:22] LtJG Rain Silver: " yes mam, though i wonder, the opening do you think they carved that out as the primary approach to their base? if they did, how do they get past the traps? we have already pointed out that the mines are ment or appear to be ment to keep out ships correct? perhaps taking a look from another angle may reveal a second entry point that isn't so obvious " rambling as he thinks outloud mostly to himself
[10:08:02] LtJG Rain Silver does continue to try to map out the traps, mines and conexes with the drone for everyone
[10:08:08] Lt.Col Ishida: I would think their approach is know to them.
[10:08:22] Lt.Col Ishida sighs, and sits back into her chair.
[10:08:30] LtJG Rain Silver: [1d100] => [92] = (92) vs 60% RSI [1d100] => [31] = (31) vs 65% AEW [1d100] => [74] = (74) vs 45% detect ambush [1d100] => [9] = (9) vs 30% detect concealment [1d20] => [9] = (9) perception [1d100] => [45] = (45) vs 59% intelegence [1d100] => [17] = (17) vs 85% radio basics
[10:09:12] Lt.Col Ishida: I't like the naval blockades on old earth, select routes are known to only the host nation. And woe be to the ship that tries to navigate it.
[10:09:42] LtJG Rain Silver: " i see, do you think that perhaps there is a path through the mine field then? "
[10:09:53] LtJG Rain Silver: " a means for navigating it i mean "
[10:10:07] Lt.Col Ishida: Yes, but only if you are one of them, and know the route, and likely with the correct IFF.
[10:10:50] Lt.Col Ishida: Kain, I think it will be up to you, mecha infiltration seems the option most liekly to retian us stealth.
[10:11:37] Lt.Col Ishida: If you can secure the base and thus the defences we will proceed thru the gauntlet to support you, if not, we will use your diversion to create our own route.
[10:12:14] LtJG Rain Silver: "would you like me to try and see if there are any signals being sent or recieved by the traps and or the base and to or from either? "
[10:12:31] LtJG Rain Silver: " maybe we can duplicate it and use it as an iff signal "
[10:12:47] Lt.Col Ishida purses her lips nad thinks.
[10:12:54] Lt.Col Ishida: Do it.
[10:15:25] Capt Kain Crockett: ((I really wish Microsoft would stop with the whole "update me by rebooting"))
[10:16:14] 2Lt. Sarah: (( I usually tell it "I will update when I'm good and fucking ready, don't you dare restart my system ))

[10:18:28] GM: Okay, you've narrowed it down some, laser comms are out, to much movement, so it is by radio relay, but you have yet to crack it's coding.
