Chapter 2 - Act II - Part 2

BEGIN LOG

[07:29:04] GM: Questions before we begin?
[07:29:26] 2Lt. Sarah: hm
[07:30:08] 2Lt. Sarah: we're not ones for asking questions, ever notice that? More 'plod on blindly into the situation' :)
[07:30:24] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Yeah, is the tank crew still there?))
[07:30:28] GM: Yeah, but I would not be doing my due diligance in not asking.
[07:30:53] 2Lt. Sarah: Tank crew should be nearby, yes? And how far away are other units at present?
[07:30:58] GM: Yes
[07:32:30] 2Lt. Sarah: and we're how far from ship?
[07:32:43] GM: 1450 miles
[07:33:42] Capt Kain Crockett: How far from the next wave?
[07:35:47] GM: fast movers (hover sled 'Stingers') can and will be on you in minutes.
[07:37:35] 2Lt. Sarah: how many of those inbound to us?
[07:39:16] GM: About 8 or so, tactically speaking, you hit a flank picket and that flank is going to wheel about to bring themselves on line with the threat.
[07:39:38] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Hrmm…))
[07:39:45] Capt Kain Crockett: ((AFK, I'm being yelled at.))
[07:40:18] 2Lt. Sarah: (( eek ))
[07:40:21] GM: So, that wing will align and advance , and if they follow SOP the main body will reinforce once the wing has fixed you. (according to SOP)
[07:40:25] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. okay.. ))
[07:40:30] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hrm ))
[07:40:36] 2Lt. Sarah: how far away is the Roil?
[07:40:40] 2Lt. Sarah ponders
[07:41:11] GM: The roil is likey about 80 miles away in the center of the formation. (remeber this much armor, , it's spread over a large area.
[07:41:18] Capt Kain Crockett: "Sarah, can you get that tank crew back the ship and back before the next wave? Also, Madressa, we need some help out here."
[07:41:18] 2Lt. Sarah: k
[07:41:20] 2Lt. Sarah: hmm
[07:42:08] Cpt. Aylanea comes up on the radio. "I'll try to send some more out to you, it'll take them a bit to get there keep in mind."
[07:43:11] 2Lt. Sarah sighs and thinks. "Depends. This isn't quite like some other things, but… if we can catch them and secure them quickly…"
[07:45:44] Capt Kain Crockett: "I need YOU, not some one from another group. Get permission to get off the bridge and in a cockpit."
[07:46:36] Cpt. Aylanea: "Acknowledged, same issue though. I'll get there as soon as I can."
[07:47:12] Cpt. Aylanea looks to the captain. "Ma'am? Being requested to go assist. Permission to do so?"
[07:49:05] Lt.Col Ishida eyes Ay for a few seconds, tapping the arm of her chair with her finger in thought.
[07:49:57] Lt.Col Ishida: I'm not sure why my CAG is needed so far forward. But, I will admit, I'm dying to find out. Granted.
[07:50:26] Cpt. Aylanea: "Yes ma'am, thank you, ma'am." She hurries for the bay.
[07:50:42] XO: You think thats wise Skipper?
[07:51:12] Lt.Col Ishida: Maybe, but, she's been cooped up in her since we left port, let her stretch her legs a little.
[07:51:44] Lt.Col Ishida shrugs.
[07:52:57] Lt.Col Ishida: Have the ground troops under us pack up shop. I want to displace as soon as possible. Those FO's we popped a few minutes back were a start, but, we can't be sure we got all of them.
[07:53:11] XO: Aye Skipper.
[07:54:26] Cpt. Aylanea hurries and grabs a spare Gamma, trying to make it at best speed to the group's location, trying to stay low to the radar. [1d100] => [36] = (36) vs. 90% Pilot VT
[07:54:39] Cpt. Aylanea: low out of radar, rather
[07:54:43] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hehe ))
[07:54:52] XO: Once they are aboard, what heading?
[07:55:56] Lt.Col Ishida: Take us towards the enemy, if there are any FO's still around, they'll call that in, well, it should make things interesting. If not, and they fire anyway, they'll overshoot.
[07:56:15] XO nods.
[07:56:19] Cpt. Aylanea: (( ooooh ))
[07:56:22] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hee hee ^_^ ))
[07:57:22] GM: Ay, you are speeing on your way.
[07:58:09] GM: Meanwhile back at the front.
[07:58:17] Cpt. Aylanea: (( *leaves a little yellow trail dribbling behind the plane?* j/k ))
[07:58:44] 2Lt. Sarah: "Hope she's not rusty…"
[07:59:30] Cpt. Aylanea: (( *switches on dragonforce in her cockpit, speeds to the rescue* hee hee ))
[08:02:17] Cpt. Aylanea: (( hello? ))
[08:02:26] Cpt. Aylanea: (( *peeks around* ))
[08:02:52] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Did Sarah ever take the people?))
[08:03:04] Cpt. Aylanea: (( did we ever actually capture them? ))
[08:03:23] Cpt. Aylanea: (( or were they trying to slip away? She can't take them if thry're trying to run off ))
[08:03:47] GM: You mentioned it, but havent actually acted on it yet.
[08:03:54] Cpt. Aylanea: (( thought so. ))
[08:04:46] 2Lt. Sarah looks around for where the tank crew went. "Anyone have much rope? Kinda need that if I'm gonna take those guys back when we catch them." [1d20+1] => [18,1] = (19) perc
[08:05:44] Capt Kain Crockett looks for cover to hide behind while taking on the next wave, he also looks to see what the next wave is doing to prioritize targets. [1d20+1] => [14,1] = (15) PERC
[08:06:45] GM: Epic Pic btw
[08:06:47] 2Lt. Sarah: "Keep in mind, to take them, it will take a little bit of time, even if it isn't much. Within that amount of time, with an empty mecha…"
[08:07:35] 2Lt. Sarah: "If they're on us already, get them there, get them locked in brig, and get back to here, might be too long."
[08:08:10] GM: The tank crew is still scampering for the safety of their own lines.
[08:08:17] 2Lt. Sarah: (( meanwhile, Ay cruises for there at mach 4. ))
[08:08:51] 2Lt. Sarah moves to cut the tank crew off. "Not so fast…"
[08:08:56] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Minimize fire power for a short time, and trying to make up for lost people.))
[08:10:31] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oh hell ))
[08:10:51] 2Lt. Sarah: (( for Ay to get there at mach 3 under radar, would be 28 minutes ))
[08:10:53] GM: You land in front of them and the jet wash knocks them ass over tea kettle.
[08:13:53] 2Lt. Sarah lauighs just a little at that, and makes sure of what weapons or anything they have, trying to carefully scoop them into the Gamma's hand, sticking the EU on her back to have both hands to pluck them with, intending to hold them together with the mecha hands as captives.
[08:14:12] 2Lt. Sarah: (( well, or inside the hand, like, hem them in from getting away, and slide them over. ))
[08:14:28] 2Lt. Sarah: (( basically try to get them trapped without killing them ))
[08:14:46] GM: Make a strike roll
[08:14:59] 2Lt. Sarah: [1d20+7] => [13,7] = (20)
[08:15:16] 2Lt. Sarah: (( thought they were ass over teakettle ))
[08:15:19] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[08:16:09] GM: ((yeah, and they are small and wriggly))
[08:17:10] GM: Okay, you manage to scoop up [1d4] => [4] = (4)
[08:17:17] GM: All of them. No what?
[08:17:20] 2Lt. Sarah switches on her radio quickly. "Being asked to bring three prisoners back, can a security team meet me at the hangar?"
[08:17:21] GM: Now…
[08:18:21] 2Lt. Sarah unstraps her seatbelt and opens the compartment as she radios. "Or do I need to bring them right to the brig?"
[08:18:55] 2Lt. Sarah: (( now hope the ship responds to the radio :p ))
[08:20:14] 2Lt. Sarah: (( assuming I get a yes, I pop out and port them all back. ))
[08:20:39] GM: Your message gets responeded to, and you are told to bring them into the center of the hanger bay.
[08:21:17] 2Lt. Sarah hops out of the Gamma, and heads to the prisoners, porting as soon as she has them close enough. [1d100] => [38] = (38) tport roll
[08:22:10] Cpt. Aylanea keeps herself at full speed, trying to keep heading for the others.
[08:22:14] GM: Beam…..
[08:22:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ? ))
[08:22:35] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe ))
[08:22:40] 2Lt. Sarah: (( energize! ))
[08:22:45] GM: You blink into the hanger bay and are surrounded by about 15 Cyclone clad marines with their guns drawn.
[08:23:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( *pulls the three sliders back* ))
[08:23:17] Capt. Komillia Maeless saunters into a good sniping position.
[08:23:25] 2Lt. Sarah smiles to the marines, hopping away from her captures. "There you go."
[08:24:01] GM: The dazed tankers are taken into custody.
[08:24:21] 2Lt. Sarah: "And I gotta get back to my Gamma before something bad happens." She waves, and ports back for the gamma. [1d100] => [58] = (58)
[08:24:29] GM: Beam…
[08:24:37] WO Febrith Nyx studies the enemy for weknesses. [1d20+1] => [17,1] = (18) PERC, [1d100] => [20] = (20) vs 68 Psychology, [1d100] => [1] = (1) vs 53 RSI, [1d100] => [83] = (83) vs 63 Intelligence
[08:26:57] 2Lt. Sarah straps back in when she gets back, closing the mecha up.
[08:27:16] GM: Nyx, it seems that lack of radio is their major weakness, with transmission between units being a form of flag semaphore. There are some radio transmissions, and those you are able to ID as pirates talking back and forth in regards on how thier lackies should be manuvered.
[08:27:40] 2Lt. Sarah: (( wow at the RSI roll ))
[08:27:42] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe ))
[08:27:56] WO Febrith Nyx: ((You must have REALLY wanted to use that anime.))
[08:28:03] WO Febrith Nyx: "They don't have radio."
[08:28:09] 2Lt. Sarah: (( rotflol ))
[08:28:19] GM: Psychology tells you that the enemy was clearly not expecting to be attacked this far from their target. Although they did expect something, (they just never thought it would happen so fast or so far out)
[08:28:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( and now with affiliation confirmed, well, any issue Sarah may have had ends ;p ))
[08:28:47] Capt Kain Crockett: "That explains the lack of a response to our diplomatic try."
[08:29:26] Capt Kain Crockett scans the area for an apparent commander-type. "Anybody know what a white flag for Tiresians is? WE may have to do this face to face." [1d20+1] => [13,1] = (14) PERC
[08:29:30] GM: ((no, if I really wanted to use that anime it would have been with trumpets, think more water world, also, there are radios, and I'll give this a s a freebie, it's a control issue, if you were a pirate, would you want your lackies and subjects on your captured world to be able to talk back and forth via wireless?)
[08:29:52] 2Lt. Sarah: "We should coordinate with the ship, maybe a greeting with particle beam turrets. Or proton torpedoes."
[08:31:42] Cpt. Aylanea keeps pushing the Gamma as fast as it'll go.
[08:33:07] GM: Sarah you are back in your bird.
[08:34:27] 2Lt. Sarah powers it back up, and makes her previous statement, now that she's officially back.
[08:34:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe ))
[08:34:55] 2Lt. Sarah takes a look around to make sure of situation, and heads back fro the others. [1d20+1] => [2,1] = (3) perc
[08:34:58] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ow ))
[08:35:06] GM: ((such a greeting, and who was it that was griping about intimidation tactics before?))
[08:35:21] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[08:35:29] 2Lt. Sarah: (( actually, cut that line ))
[08:35:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( for moment ))
[08:36:03] 2Lt. Sarah: (( if they're with the pirates, it changes things at least some ;p ))
[08:36:25] 2Lt. Sarah: (( anyhow ))
[08:36:41] GM: Anyway, what are your immediate actions?
[08:37:14] Cpt. Aylanea keeps pushing her engines as much as she can.
[08:38:17] GM: Yes yes, she's still 27 minutes out
[08:38:31] GM: ((what are you folsk doing at the front?))
[08:39:41] Capt Kain Crockett sends a request back asking for a Tiresian equivalent for a white flag and a translator…
[08:41:04] 2Lt. Sarah gets her butt back in formation with the others, quickly, getting ready for whatever might be inbound.
[08:41:47] GM: Okay message and request sent.
[08:42:00] GM: Now waht? 8 enemy tanks are approaching
[08:42:46] Capt Kain Crockett: "Alright, prepare to light them up."
[08:42:56] 2Lt. Sarah nods. "Yes, sir."
[08:43:32] GM: inits
[08:43:44] 2Lt. Sarah: [1d20+5] => [16,5] = (21)
[08:43:53] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d20+6] => [20,6] = (26)
[08:44:08] 2Lt. Sarah: (( what a waste of a 20 ;p ))
[08:44:09] Capt. Komillia Maeless: [1d20+5] => [3,5] = (8)
[08:44:21] WO Febrith Nyx: [1d20+4] => [11,4] = (15)
[08:44:24] GM: Okay, komi, your shot
[08:44:35] WO Febrith Nyx: ((RNG either loves me or hates me…))
[08:44:49] GM: ((I keep forgetting that the init chart doesnt really need an init roll…))
[08:45:02] Capt. Komillia Maeless will take a shot with the top cannon. [1d20+10] => [4,10] = (14)
[08:45:10] GM: [1d20+6] => [9,6] = (15)
[08:45:22] GM: Jusssst a lil bit outside!
[08:45:37] GM: Sarah
[08:45:41] 2Lt. Sarah fires her shoulder cannon at one. [1d20+9] => [4,9] = (13)
[08:45:44] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ow ))
[08:45:46] GM: [1d20=6] => 1d20=6
[08:45:52] GM: [1d20+6] => [14,6] = (20)
[08:45:58] GM: Komi again
[08:48:07] Capt. Komillia Maeless will dual fire the arm guns/ [1d20+10] => [4,10] = (14)
[08:48:14] Capt. Komillia Maeless: ((really?))
[08:48:28] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[08:48:50] 2Lt. Sarah: (( RNG loves 4 tonight I guess ))
[08:48:54] GM: [1d20+6] => [4,6] = (10)
[08:49:00] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ooooh! ))
[08:49:01] GM: Apparntly so, and you hit
[08:49:25] 2Lt. Sarah: (( :D ))
[08:50:39] GM: Damage please
[08:50:52] GM: Nyx and Kain, your shots
[08:51:32] Capt. Komillia Maeless: ((soyy, your site's being slow, so I'm having trouble getting the damate.))
[08:51:38] Capt. Komillia Maeless: [4d8*10] => 150
[08:51:49] 2Lt. Sarah: (( eek ))
[08:52:13] GM: The tank is shredded.
[08:52:27] WO Febrith Nyx will use the internal guns on a tank. [1d20+5] => [8,5] = (13)
[08:52:57] Capt Kain Crockett uses the shoulder gun on a tank. [1d20+11] => [7,11] = (18)
[08:53:51] GM: [1d20+6] => [8,6] = (14) and [1d20+6] => [2,6] = (8)
[08:53:58] GM: Kain hits,
[08:55:07] Capt Kain Crockett: [4d6*10] => 150
[08:55:12] GM: Boom
[08:55:35] GM: The tanks return fire [6d20] => [2,10,3,8,2,2] = (27) all at +5
[08:56:13] GM: firing at [6d4] => [3,3,3,4,2,1] = (16) 1 nyx, 2 sarah, 3 kain, 4 komi
[08:56:27] GM: only kain and komi really have to worry
[08:56:49] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[08:57:39] GM: roll dodges to beat a 15 and 13 respectivly
[08:57:48] GM: Then komi gets to return fire
[09:01:24] Capt Kain Crockett: ((sorry, dog unplugged my freaking montiors. Gate is now up))
[09:01:38] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d20+15] => [2,15] = (17)
[09:01:51] Capt. Komillia Maeless: [1d20+12] => [17,12] = (29)
[09:02:07] Capt. Komillia Maeless returns fire with the arm guns. [1d20+10] => [1,10] = (11)
[09:02:16] GM: snerk
[09:02:30] GM: Shara
[09:02:35] GM: Sarah sorry
[09:02:38] 2Lt. Sarah fires her shoulder cannon at a tank quickly, once again. [1d20+9] => [14,9] = (23)
[09:02:52] 2Lt. Sarah: [4d6*10] => 90 dmg
[09:02:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( :p ))
[09:03:17] GM: [1d20+6] => [6,6] = (12)
[09:03:36] GM: The tank takes the hit [1d100] => [22] = (22)
[09:03:41] GM: And slows
[09:04:17] GM: [1d100] => [76] = (76)
[09:04:23] GM: Sarah, you next attack
[09:04:36] 2Lt. Sarah fires a second shot at the one she hit, quickly. [1d20+9] => [7,9] = (16)
[09:04:44] 2Lt. Sarah: [4d6*10] => 150 dmg
[09:05:10] 2Lt. Sarah: (( assuming it hits of course :) ))
[09:05:57] GM: [1d20+6] => [8,6] = (14)
[09:06:01] GM: Boom!
[09:07:54] GM: Nyx and Kain
[09:08:29] WO Febrith Nyx will keep firing the internal guns until she sees what they can do. [1d20+5] => [10,5] = (15)
[09:08:45] Capt Kain Crockett likes the big gun. [1d20+11] => [4,11] = (15)
[09:09:29] GM: [1d20+6] => [17,6] = (23) and [1d20+6] => [13,6] = (19)
[09:09:38] GM: Ttwin misses.
[09:10:00] GM: Komi
[09:10:36] Capt. Komillia Maeless fires the top gun for a second time. [1d20+10] => [14,10] = (24)
[09:10:43] GM: [1d20+6] => [8,6] = (14)
[09:10:48] GM: Damage
[09:11:00] Capt. Komillia Maeless: [4d10*10] => 170
[09:11:44] GM: Boom!
[09:12:24] GM: The three undamaged and one damaged tank halt their advance and begin to pull back under cover of smoke….(poor things dont know that you can still see thru that with thermlas)
[09:13:18] Capt Kain Crockett: "Let them go. If we want to end this peacefully, we need to show some mercy."
[09:13:50] 2Lt. Sarah: "Acknowledged. Holding fire."
[09:15:13] GM: What do you do now?
[09:15:24] GM: Ay, your a 25.5 minutes out now
[09:15:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( heh ))
[09:15:36] 2Lt. Sarah: (( :p ))
[09:17:14] GM: Do you withdraw, hold position, advnace, dance a jig?
[09:17:44] 2Lt. Sarah: (( stand on top of mecha and do strip show? ;p j/k ))
[09:17:56] Capt. Komillia Maeless dances a jig.
[09:18:21] Capt. Komillia Maeless dances a jig, using the mecha to dance…
[09:19:13] Capt Kain Crockett looks out over the field for the Anti-air Artillery. [1d20+1] => [20,1] = (21) PERC, [1d100] => [96] = (96) vs 70 RSI, [1s100] => 1s100 vs 71 Intelligence
[09:19:25] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d100] => [18] = (18) vs 71 Intell
[09:21:30] GM: The Anti Air is nestled within the formation with a concentration around the Roil. Intell tells you that the overall advnace has shifted somewhat. About a quarter of the formation, nearest you has broken off and is moving to encircle you, while the remaining units press on.
[09:23:33] GM: Consider that you have efectivly wiped out two tank platoons for no losses. That's significant in the context of this engagment.
[09:23:47] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe ))
[09:24:05] 2Lt. Sarah: (( send em in, we'll gobble em up. ;) ))
[09:24:12] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ;p ))
[09:24:38] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Are they in range of missiles, particularly LRMs?))
[09:24:49] GM: If you are carrying them then yes
[09:24:54] 2Lt. Sarah: (( *sighs and wishes Ay could get there faster* :) ))
[09:26:43] Capt Kain Crockett: "Nyx, use your LRMs to bust up those AAs, anyone else with LRMs, proceed to fire.
[09:27:44] WO Febrith Nyx fires all 4 LRMs, in a spread over the area. [1d20+3] => [3,3] = (6)
[09:28:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lols ))
[09:28:19] WO Febrith Nyx: ((ow…))
[09:28:47] GM: Anyone else?
[09:30:00] GM: gues snot
[09:30:15] GM: [4d100] => [93,44,17,46] = (200)
[09:30:35] GM: [2d20] => [14,6] = (20)
[09:30:37] 2Lt. Sarah: (( I don't. ))
[09:31:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( depending on what Komi took out, if it's the scorpion it has the second seat for it, if that has LRMs. ))
[09:31:57] GM: Nyx, your missile wipe out two targets and kills a slew of dismounted infantry nearby. The other two missiles either miss or ar shot down.
[09:32:02] GM: [1d100] => [70] = (70) tactics
[09:32:26] GM: The enemy halts it over all advance once again.
[09:33:53] WO Febrith Nyx: ((Komi would leave the missiles to the missile guy…\))
[09:33:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( nod. ))
[09:33:59] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah ))
[09:34:03] 2Lt. Sarah: (( that's what4 I thought ))
[09:35:25] GM: [1d20+3] => [15,3] = (18)
[09:35:33] GM: [4d100] => [53,49,8,33] = (143)
[09:36:17] GM: three more targets closer to you (MRM's launched off the Skorp) but all AA are wiped out, one missile fails to connect with anything meanigful.
[09:36:58] 2Lt. Sarah: (( woot ))
[09:37:42] Capt Kain Crockett: "Get airborne. Now."
[09:38:17] Capt Kain Crockett: "Strafe and drop missiles into the enemy until they are scattered and then push back on them.
[09:38:45] GM: ((there is still a lot of AA in there you know, just saying, unless you are following a shoot and scoot doctrine, I would not recommend any fly overs of the enemy…))
[09:39:12] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[09:39:15] GM: Just becuase you took out 5 AA units, does not mean you have neutered them…
[09:39:45] 2Lt. Sarah: (( how many more are there? ))
[09:39:52] 2Lt. Sarah: (( and are any in MRM range? ))
[09:40:06] GM: Of course, this is Robotech, you might be able to navigate the itano curcus and come out a live,
[09:40:19] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah, not gonna try it ))
[09:40:20] 2Lt. Sarah: (( :p ))
[09:40:23] GM: be easier if you were a newtype but, sadly wrong franchise.
[09:40:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lols ))
[09:40:57] 2Lt. Sarah: (( I has 10 MRMs I could be shooting if there's AA in range, after all ;) ))
[09:41:07] GM: MRM are useful yes
[09:41:25] Capt Kain Crockett: (((5) GM: three more targets closer to you (MRM's launched off the Skorp) but all AA are wiped out, one missile fails to connect with anything meanigful.))
[09:41:33] GM: You could probobly do a cute lil boost up acquire fire, cobra into a powered decent
[09:41:41] 2Lt. Sarah: (( oh. ))
[09:41:43] 2Lt. Sarah: (( k ))
[09:41:45] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hmm ))
[09:41:56] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Sorry, I thought what was said in bold meant that we just had armor that COULD shoot at us but not necessarily effective at dong so?))
[09:41:58] GM: ((three targets there were all AA units) sorry,
[09:42:31] GM: ((I can see the confusion, I just was trying to tell you that the MRMs that wee ired had hit AA units and not a tank or APC
[09:42:50] Capt Kain Crockett: ((okay.))
[09:43:06] Capt Kain Crockett: "Bring those AA defenses down now."
[09:43:09] 2Lt. Sarah: (( poke the mecha's head justover the trees, fire, and drop back down? ))
[09:43:26] GM: ((well, yeah, you coud do that as well…if you wanted to be boring…))
[09:43:45] GM: You gain points for effecive ness, but lose for style))
[09:43:58] Capt Kain Crockett fires off 3 MRMs at each of the AA targes. [1d20+3] => [16,3] = (19) [1d20+3] => [14,3] = (17) [1d20+3] => [2,3] = (5)
[09:44:05] GM: two hits
[09:44:35] Capt Kain Crockett: [(2d6*10)*3] => 180
[09:44:37] Capt Kain Crockett: [(2d6*10)*3] => 210
[09:45:35] 2Lt. Sarah fires off 3 at 3 different AA targets as well, trying to make sure and target different ones than Kain. [1d20+3] => [9,3] = (12) [1d20+3] => [13,3] = (16) [1d20+3] => [13,3] = (16)
[09:46:06] GM: [1d20+5] => [7,5] = (12)
[09:46:10] GM: three hits
[09:46:15] 2Lt. Sarah: [(2d6*10)*3] => 300
[09:46:16] 2Lt. Sarah: [(2d6*10)*3] => 210
[09:46:17] 2Lt. Sarah: [(2d6*10)*3] => 210
[09:47:53] GM: three nice fireballs.
[09:48:02] GM: [1d100] => [8] = (8)
[09:49:06] GM: The enemy opens up his formation, those of you that are tactically trained recognize that the enemy near you is aware that his air defense has been severly degraded and is spreading his units out to avoid clumping to mitigate damage from an airstrike he feels is imminant.
[09:49:29] Cpt. Aylanea flies and flies and flies.
[09:51:07] Capt Kain Crockett transforms into a fighter and starts gunning (gunpod, strafing) for the center of the formation. [1d20+11] => [15,11] = (26)
[09:51:24] GM: [1d20] => [4] = (4)
[09:51:26] GM: Damage
[09:51:44] Capt Kain Crockett: [3d4*10+30] => 90
[09:52:03] GM: you tear some chnks off a tank
[09:52:38] Capt. Komillia Maeless fixes whatever jam is in her gun arms…
[09:52:40] GM: a few troops get his as well while other scramble for cover whiel the are bealow starts firing up at you (small arms are likly to miss, but
[09:52:55] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hmm ))
[09:53:01] 2Lt. Sarah: (( the Gamma can't fly in battloid? ))
[09:53:14] GM: Ner the center of the formation, near the Roil, a slavo of MRM lift off at you Kain
[09:53:38] GM: [1d20+3] => [1,3] = (4) volly of 4 and [1d20+3] => [19,3] = (22) volley of four
[09:53:54] GM: One volley goes stupid the second it is launched [1d100] => [75] = (75)
[09:53:54] Capt Kain Crockett drops flares and rolls out of the way. [1d100] => [52] = (52)
[09:54:07] GM: and arcs back on the firing unit.
[09:55:38] GM: two missile impact you Kain [4d6*10] => 110
[09:56:05] GM: @ Sarah, not well no.
[09:56:27] 2Lt. Sarah: (( it doesnt' need to do it well, wondered cause nothing is listed for it flying in battloid on the page ))
[09:56:32] GM: All mecha fly slow in battloid mode (slower then in other modes) but stilla couple hundrad miles an hour is pretty zippy
[09:56:37] 2Lt. Sarah: (( just needs to stay stable long enough to shoot the shoulder cannon. ))
[09:57:09] GM: You are aware Sarah-chan that the Gamma does carry a shit ton of SRM
[09:57:18] 2Lt. Sarah: (( yeah. :p ))
[09:57:19] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[09:58:45] 2Lt. Sarah flips to Fighter, flies up to ot where Kain is, firing four volleys of four SRMs, at different potential important targets. [1d20+3] => [5,3] = (8) [1d20+3] => [3,3] = (6) [1d20+3] => [18,3] = (21) [1d20+3] => [16,3] = (19)
[09:59:04] GM: [1d20+5] => [13,5] = (18)
[09:59:08] GM: [1d100] => [54] = (54)
[09:59:24] GM: [2d6*10] => 20
[09:59:51] GM: Sarah, you pop two armored vehicles, on a tank the other an APC, and damage lightly a third
[10:00:04] WO Febrith Nyx flips over to fighter mode and fires off 6 MRMs into the Roil. [1d20+3] => [16,3] = (19)
[10:00:22] GM: [1d20+7] => [19,7] = (26) [1d20+7] => [9,7] = (16)
[10:01:08] GM: [[1d100] => [1d100
[10:01:16] GM: [1d100] => [62] = (62)
[10:01:40] GM: well poop, all missiles are shot down
[10:01:46] GM: it would seem that the roil has a crack crew and it's beam cannons are operational
[10:03:17] GM: Hoever, the roil and nearby units with identicle banners halt their advance and move away,
[10:03:49] GM: [1d100] => [79] = (79)
[10:04:08] GM: This obviously sealfish and cowardly act does not go unoticed and in areas the general advance falters.
[10:05:37] GM: each of you in the air is fired on [1d20+3] => [2,3] = (5) to komi, [1d20+3] => [10,3] = (13) sarah [1d20+3] => [16,3] = (19) kain [1d20+3] => [14,3] = (17) nyx
[10:05:57] Cpt. Aylanea keeps pushing towards the battle location.
[10:06:57] 2Lt. Sarah tries to evade quickly. [1d20+10] => [5,10] = (15)
[10:07:06] 2Lt. Sarah: (( pass, barely. ))
[10:07:11] GM: [1d100] => [99] = (99)
[10:07:18] GM: You shoot down all the missile after you
[10:07:22] WO Febrith Nyx: [1d20+11] => [3,11] = (14)
[10:07:31] Capt Kain Crockett: [1d20+15] => [9,15] = (24)
[10:07:34] GM: [1d100] => [26] = (26)
[10:07:39] GM: [1d4] => [3] = (3)
[10:07:46] GM: [2d6*10] => 60
[10:07:49] GM: Nyx takes 60
[10:07:58] GM: [1d100] => [41] = (41)
[10:08:11] GM: [4d6*10] => 180
[10:08:25] GM: Kain takes an additional 180 over his prior 110
[10:08:32] GM: [1d100] => [37] = (37)
[10:08:52] GM: comms are damaged reduce range by half
[10:09:31] 2Lt. Sarah: (( brb, gotta grab something upstairs ))
[10:10:46] GM: komi's second seater clues in on Nyx's actions and fires the last 4 MRM's at the retreating roil [1d20+3] => [17,3] = (20)
[10:10:52] GM: [2d20] => [4,11] = (15)
[10:11:02] GM: [12d6*10] => 360
[10:11:13] GM: Doing paltry damage, but impacting regardless.
[10:11:52] GM: The damage looks worse that it really is as addons built atop the armored hull are blown free and into flames,
[10:13:12] 2Lt. Sarah: (( bck. ))
[10:13:14] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[10:13:53] GM: tactics freebie, trading shots at this rate, will see you shot down eventually…
[10:14:35] Capt Kain Crockett: "The enemy is in retreat. Fall back to base and get repaired and rearmed."
[10:14:58] GM: mission freebie, your task was to prevent the missile from being in a position to hurt the Havoc, not wipe out the enemy coloumn.
[10:15:06] Capt Kain Crockett: "Radios the Havoc. The enemy is scattered and retreating, at this point we're only going to get shot down trading shots. RTB."
[10:15:45] Capt Kain Crockett: "Enemy AA has been dealt with."
[10:15:53] Cpt. Aylanea droops a little at that. "Acknowledged…"
[10:15:57] Capt Kain Crockett: ((the missiles different than the AA or one in the same?))
[10:16:35] GM: AA are MRM, the ones that were a threat were the LRM launchers, of which you destroyed a few.
[10:18:12] GM: You all RTB, and poor Ay has to rub one out herself as she is hit with combatus inturruptus
[10:18:19] Capt Kain Crockett: Finish taking out those LRM luanchers before RTB.
[10:18:28] Capt Kain Crockett: ((How many LRM?))
[10:18:33] GM: ((you dont have the ordiance to do that, just saying))
[10:18:43] Capt Kain Crockett: ((ah/))
[10:18:48] GM: ((not in terms of the right type, just, not in enough number))
[10:19:34] GM: You return to base and by the time you do the enemy prisoners have had their initial interrogation session.
[10:21:29] Capt Kain Crockett: ((AFK, bio))
[10:21:44] GM: You learn that the group of armor you were tussling with is, as Malicus had stated of that old merchant family. however, when the pirates showed up 33 years ago, that family was one of those that chose to collaborate with them rather then fight or succumb. They gained more favors by being, well, assholes in the pirates name to the other houses.
[10:22:54] GM: There are other houses out there that resist, but are small, and mobile, while larger houses are known to dislike the pirates, they keep their mouths shut and pay their tribute on time.
[10:23:57] GM: The pirates control all the high tech, and keep it to themselves, and their loyal friends, but as you have noticed, radios and other such advantages are either withheld or are doled out to those whose loyalty is assured.
[10:25:34] GM: You also get the sense that while most of the merhant house is fully in on the take, it IS a sweet gig after all, there are those that do what they do becuase there is no choice, rather to be on the winning side then have to worry about where your next meal will come from or if the pirate of collaborator walking by might decide he doesnt like the way you looked at him.
[10:27:26] GM: The notion of organized rebellion faltered some months after the pirates showed up when a few settlements were wiped out from orbit. After that, all resistance was kept low key. Although a few other settlements have been blown up over the years for actions of individuals or just to make a point.
[10:28:15] 2Lt. Sarah frowns severely at that thought.
[10:28:51] Capt Kain Crockett: "Well, sounds like we should nuke that army we just fought."
[10:29:06] Capt Kain Crockett: "Figuratively, though literally could be fun too."
[10:29:07] GM: The pirates have two major strongholds, that one town, and a few forts. Their HQ is a large armored and shielded ediface in the mountians called the Black Keep.
[10:31:43] 2Lt. Sarah nods just a little bit.
[10:32:25] 2Lt. Sarah hmms. "If we could get some of the ship's guns into position to get a shot on that, I bet the armor and shielding wouldn't hold very long."
[10:34:06] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Two major strongholds besides the town, or to include the town?"))
[10:34:14] GM: besides the town
[10:34:20] GM: well, city really
[10:34:23] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hehe ))
[10:35:42] 2Lt. Sarah: (( hrm ))
[10:36:21] 2Lt. Sarah hmms. "Question is, what do they have set up around their HQ? Wouldn't surprise me to see there was a city below it, or a lot of people inside it."
[10:38:09] Capt Kain Crockett: "A better question is how structured their organization is. Cutting off the head MAY not help here. We may need to destroy enough of their warpower AND build up this resistance to the point that we can ensure the total anihilation of this pirate clan."
[10:38:46] GM: No, the Keep is isolated, to keep away the curious, it was once a fortress military base during the Schism War.
[10:39:14] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ooooooh. ))
[10:39:31] 2Lt. Sarah: (( other question then. Proton torpedoes are safe to use on gruondtargets, yes? ))
[10:39:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( or no? ))
[10:39:34] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[10:39:42] 2Lt. Sarah: (( gah ))
[10:39:52] 2Lt. Sarah: (( ground targets ))
[10:39:55] GM: As such it should tell you that it is a tough nut, as was (is) any structure built to survive a conflict during the Schism War
[10:40:00] 2Lt. Sarah: (( fingers always get tied when I type it ))
[10:40:32] 2Lt. Sarah: (( how far are any populations from the keep,then? ))
[10:40:42] Capt Kain Crockett: ((gee, why don't we just pull positron weapons out and shower them with anti-matter?))
[10:41:17] GM: Proton Torepedo is just a warhead type, it does 3d6x100
[10:41:43] GM: well, the Havoc DOES carry 80 Reflex warheads that do 4D6x1000…
[10:41:56] 2Lt. Sarah: (( that's why I asked how far populations were ))
[10:42:11] 2Lt. Sarah: (( can't use that if there's a city in a spot where radiation might spread to it ))
[10:42:22] GM: well, there is that concern
[10:42:44] GM: and the fact that even a liberate dpopulace might not be keen on having portions of their world turned into radioactive glass
[10:43:03] 2Lt. Sarah: (( that's why I asked about the torpedoes, we have higher numbers of those, and if they're not radioactive like the reflexes, best to stick with them ))
[10:43:06] GM: but those are political decisions, not military ones
[10:43:36] GM: a pure military decision would be to use the best tool for the job, and nothing is better then busting a fortified positon then a nuke.
[10:43:39] 2Lt. Sarah: (( or get in position and use the other four 1d4*1000 weapons ))
[10:44:19] 2Lt. Sarah: (( but the Havoc would need to be off the ground significantly to fire the heavy laser cannons at it ))
[10:44:26] GM: there is that as well, but lets just be crazy for a second and assume that the fort is armed, you know, designed to defend against orbital attack.
[10:45:05] GM: Not saying it's a bad idea, just playing the devisl advocate, figure this is the back and forth in the wardroom, since IC RP is scant
[10:45:29] Capt Kain Crockett: ((I am paying attention, I'm just considering. Sarah is bringing up some interesting ideas…))
[10:46:12] GM: Sarah banging out Ideas and James considering…what is this, Bizzaro world? opposite day?
[10:47:40] 2Lt. Sarah: (( Trick is, how far 'down' plane would the orbital defenses be set to defend against? We go in at just over treetop level or so, and we might be able to come up and fire without getting into range of something designed to hit an orbital ship. ))
[10:47:47] WO Febrith Nyx: "So if we decide to take out the main stronghold, how about we infiltrate and blow it up from the inside? The subtle approach tends to be better than not. Plus, we could dig up some good intel. This requires a certain level outside assault to get us in though."
[10:49:40] GM: You could put on a Soldier Boy! concert
[10:50:17] GM: its funny cause it's canon
[10:51:19] 2Lt. Sarah hmms at that. "Question is how many mecha and how much other equipment they have inside? We could take our battloids in and be overwhelmed by bioroids, potentially. Since that is their headquarters, and we've seen them have some previously."
[10:51:37] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[10:53:15] GM: Well, consider this regards leadership. Whoever the upperleadership was, they likely made it up to that Frigate that folded out. I know that if i were scum pirate leader, and I got words that a demon black ship was heading my way, I'd be buggin gout too, especailly after my defence fleet got tured into orbital debris.
[10:53:43] 2Lt. Sarah: (( lol ))
[10:53:52] 2Lt. Sarah: (( point ))
[10:54:34] GM: trut me, very littel about this set up was willy nilly, I did (shock) think it thru
[10:55:13] 2Lt. Sarah: "The city, if we go after that, is a whole other can of worms. How well entrenched are they within residential districts, how to hit it with enough precision to avoid killing victims…"
[10:55:20] Capt Kain Crockett: "so we need to ensure that not only do we free this planet. We also need to make sure the pirates can't come back."
[10:56:18] 2Lt. Sarah: "Too bad that frigate folded out. If we could catch that and capture it, it would help."
[10:57:07] Lt.Col Ishida: Either target, will require finesse.
[10:58:45] 2Lt. Sarah blushes a little bit at that statement.
[10:58:54] Lt.Col Ishida: Regards that armor push, we can avoid that entirely by moving off continent, or even settle at the bottom of a deep body of water.
[10:59:28] Lt.Col Ishida: My primary issue is the recovery of the frighter crew, and then getting back on station.
[11:00:13] Lt.Col Ishida: We do not have the luxury of unlimited time as we have established duties elsewhere that we are charged to fulfill.
[11:01:19] Lt.Col Ishida: The priosners spoke of larger houses paying tithe. I suggest we approach them and enlist their aid, it is after all, their world, not ours.
[11:02:28] 2Lt. Sarah nods. "The big threat to them is gone, we took it out on our way in."
[11:02:48] Lt.Col Ishida nods.
[11:03:05] Capt Kain Crockett: "What do we know of the strongholds?"
[11:03:09] Lt.Col Ishida: One may find a spine now that the threat of orbital armageddon has been removed.
[11:03:31] 2Lt. Sarah: "If they knew that, they might be much more willing. Might want to consider weapons and radios if we have any to spare, for those willing to help. The lack of technology is one of the big issues, if they hoarded it all." She ponders.
[11:04:38] 2Lt. Sarah: (( eek, I should get out of suki's head ))
[11:04:38] 2Lt. Sarah: lol
[11:04:46] 2Lt. Sarah: (( er, ooc the lol ))
[11:05:52] Lt.Col Ishida: Thats a good point Sarah, DO they know that? If the pirates have been controlling information, they may have covered that up as well. Eliminate us, while maintaining the semblance of normalcy.
[11:06:17] Lt.Col Ishida: Once we were eliminated, back to business as usual.
[11:06:40] 2Lt. Sarah nods just a little bit at that.
[11:08:19] 2Lt. Sarah: "So we need to find a good way to let them know. Maybe an overflight on the way to somewhere? Might scare the crap out of them, but if we knew a city where the house was being held hard under the yoke, well…"
[11:10:47] Lt.Col Ishida: Either way, I think a convocation of houses would be best, in order to aoiv the illusion we favor one over an other.
[11:11:30] Capt Kain Crockett: ((Sorry, I need to hit the hay, gotta doctor's appointment at parental insistence.))
[11:12:57] GM: kk, good time to knock off anyway
