Chapter 15 - Act III - Part 9

BEGIN LOG

(1091) Chris: Okay, when we last left off the area around the ship has suffered an orbital, and then airel bombardment, the smaller more elegant looking ship of blackand purple has crashed, slewing ito the jungle (on the same plataue you are all on) and rest, aflame some 1/4 km away.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( eek. yeah ))
(1091) Chris: The more blocky larger ship has hightailed it, ducking as low as it can to avoid continued fire from the VM's dorsal gun batteries.
(1091) Chris: Ishida has landed in battloid mode and is issuing orders rapid fire to the marines on the ground as well as coordinating medical teams to deal with the wounded outside the ship.
(1091) GM: Game on
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett confirms the locations of any known hostile craft in the area. [1d20+1] => [1,1] = (2) PERC, [1d100] => [76] = (76) vs 60 RSI
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: ((…))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( lol ))
(1091) GM: To much smoke and squirrels
(1090) CWO3 Sarah tries to scan for known hostiles as well, of her own. [1d20+1] => [9,1] = (10) perc, [1d100] => [38] = (38) vs. 80% RSI(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless will perform her own sweeps around the base camp to ensure the wounded have time to get to safety. [1d20] => [18] = (18) PERC, [1d100] => [17] = (17) vs 70 RSI
(1091) GM: Scanners still have three of the four slender looking mecha on the scope, they are stationary, and have grouped up some 700 feet away.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea looks around generally for anything weird or not normal, regardless. [1d20] => [19] = (19) perc, [1d100] => [99] = (99) rsi 73%
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea: (( :p ))
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea: (( ow rsi ))
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea: (( lol ))
(1091) GM: Ay, you are nearby one of the downed clunkier looking mecha, it is much taller then your Alpha.
(1091) GM: It appears that it's gunpod has survived relitivly intact
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: ((the slender mecha are the friendlies right?))
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea blinks, and kneels her alpha down to look over it, taking the gunpod to check, and checking for a pilot or anything else.
(1091) GM: The machine is torn to shreds, looking like one hit by one of the Captains linked bursts. If there was a pilots compartment it's unrecognizable.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea shrugs and just takes the gunpod then, to check over. "Hmm… neat."
(1091) GM: @ komi, you aren't sure, all you know is that they havent fired at you
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: ((That's what I wanted to know.))
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Mealess, Amdahl, remain on station. Madresa, Crockett, on me.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea: "Yes, ma'am!"
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless keeps an eye on the unknowns on the hill and makes sure her mecha is positioned between them and the defenseless without aiming her weapons at them.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Understood.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) walk her mecah towards the slender ones, the gun pod held at the ready, barrel towards the ground.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: "Maintaining station, acknowledged."
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea moves up slowly, behind Ishida, slinging her own weapon, and holding the other idly at the gruond.
(1091) GM: The three slender mecha manuver at our approach and place themselves between us and their dismounts, some of which are clearly wounded.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea: (( ground ))
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett keeps his gunpod in a low ready position.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): I am Captian Suki Ishida, United Earth Marine Corps, you are in my Area of Operations, Identify yourselves and state your intentions.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) says using the lingua franca
(1091) GM: You can see a few of the dismounts looking at one another, slightly perplexed, most likely not at the language, which they would assume (well you assume they would assume) anyone in their neck of the woods would use, but for the unknown orginization mentioned.
(1091) GM: One of the three mecha steps forward and puts it's arms up and to it's side in a sign of non agression.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea stays very quiet, inside her mech, blinking and perking up slightly within it as she sees that.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett tries to get a zoom in on the dismounted beings, to get a better look at them. [1d20+1] => [19,1] = (20) PERC, [1d100] => [12] = (12) vs 60 Surveilance
(1090) CWO3 Sarah tries to get a peek as well, if she can. [1d20+1] => [4,1] = (5) perc, [1d100] => [76] = (76) optics systems vs. 79% (to get the zoom on her mech's head and such right)
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: ((not surveilance, RSI. Number's right though.))
(1091) Kyne'laryn: I am Seargent Kyne'laryn, Imperial Navy Scout and Survey Corps. We are here to investigate unregistered energy signals on our frontier.
(1091) GM: Kain, you know what you are looking at, a few have their helmets off, mainly the wounded ones…
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: That would be us, we doing some recon ourselves when found an anomaly that shifted us thousands of light years from our location when we crashed here.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: That…would, explain your unlisted ship configuration…
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Seargent, who attacked us?
(1091) Kyne'laryn: That was a Bondar scout ship, so, without actually inspecting the wrecks of their Golem's, I can't say for sure…
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett indentifies himself, "We probably were NOT the only ones to come through that anomaly though. Some of our enemies were in the area when the event occurred. They would be hostile machines who likely would try to kill us, and possibly your kind as well.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: I dont know anything about any hostile machines.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: I didn't think you would, just warning you so you can keep your guard up around them. They have a chronic back-stabbing disorder.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): How bad off are your men?
(1091) Kyne'laryn: Men? Ah…oh, one is hurt nadly, the other two are mobile.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( hehe ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( nadly! ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( :) ))
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) on close link "Kain see about gettng a medic over here, as well as a few spare troops. They likely have more wounded inside their ship.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Do you require medical assistance, we do have our own medical staff.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: I'll go see if Anhel can spare anyone.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) nods
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett gets a safe distance and then transforms into guardian to go get a medic.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Sgt, we have medics on the way, if your position here is tenable, lets see about the wounded abaord your downed ship.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: Yes, thank you.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless turns her gaze to the skies and to her sensors to keep the lookout for hostiles.
(1091) GM: Kain you arrive back at the VM rather quickly.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah stays where she was, watching for any further trouble. [1d20+1] => [1,1] = (2) [1d100] => [84] = (84) rsi vs. 80%
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( ow, fail ))
(1091) GM: Hurr and durr
(1091) GM: Kain zips right past you in gerwalk and you are all…wazzat!
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett radios in, "Potential friendlies on the hill are in need of medical attention, do we have medical personnel that we can spare?"
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( brb ))
(1091) Ahnhel: Oh, I suppose…
(1091) Ahnhel details a pair of sick berth attendants to go assist.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett escorts the medical team back to the hill to meet up with Sergeant Kyne. Once back he gets out of his own craft but doesn't go too far, "So if I may ask a question?"
(1091) GM: You all arrive at the downed ship and begin picking over the wreckage. All told she lost over half her crew in the attack and subsequent crash landing. You also note among the wounded, A, they wear skinsuits, (giggity) and B you note a few lighter, grey skinned variaties aside the more ash color skinned ones.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: Hmm?
(1091) Kyne'laryn doesnt quite understand what Kain said
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Why is it that you all are clearly an advanced, space faring civilization, but the ones on this planet look like they just discovered the automobile?
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) translates that as best she can
(1091) Kyne'laryn looks shocked.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: What others? This planet is supposed to be uninhabited.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: We have a native aboard our ship…
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: She is clearly of a species identical, if not the same species, as yours. This planet is very much inhabited.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: That shouldn't be.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Regardless, it is, however I suggest we concentrate on the task at hand, we have a lot of wounded hee to move.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett nods.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: Yes, or course.
(1091) Kyne'laryn: ((of))
(1091) GM: It takes a few hours and at least three trips by Rabbit to move the worst off, folks that will be needing to either get replacement limbs or learn to do without are among the least damaged among those batched airlifted out. The walking wounded and those lucky enough to have survived unharmed amke the 1/4 km hick back to the VM.
(1091) GM: ((those batched = the batch being))
(1091) GM: Much of 'Camp Gilligan' survived the bombardment so there are some structures avaialble to put the crew of the scout ship (roughly 35 all told)
(1091) GM: A formal debriefing later, in which the Sgt, her ships XO (captian didnt make it) and the surviving ranking member of the sciance team, sit with yall and discuss the situation with the wounded, the ships and then the fact that the planet should be uninhabited.
(1093) Febrith Nyx gets out of her hold and goes poking her nose outside. She is rather confused by all the girls in the skin tight uniforms. They seemed out of place with every nation she knew of. But at least their ears weren't deformed.
(1091) GM: And there are grey skinned ones too, you never seen one of those before
(1093) Febrith Nyx peeks up on a gray one. "I've never seen a grey Trow before, what manner of mutation causes the pigmentation change?" [1d100] => [25] = (25) vs 73 Biology
(1091) GM: Magic
(1091) GM: You made a good roll, you can fill in the correct answer
(1091) GM: something something genetics, something something pigment
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( technobabble not included ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( hehehehe ))
(1091) GM: yeah, and I'm not a biology major so…
(1093) Febrith Nyx: ((lol))
(1091) GM: so whatever would be the bleeding edge reason for a 1900's scientist…you kow the same folks that sid cocain in coca cola was good for you and who's doctors smoked in the exam rooms…
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( rotfl ))
(1091) GM: so, i dunno, they stay indoors more often…
Sorry I don't know what /shrugs is!
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( lol ))
(1093) Febrith Nyx: ((rofl))
(1091) GM: During the briefing, the dead sabatour is identified as a Naal Sisterhood assassin. And, the general consensus among the Trow are that the reason you managed to kill her was either extreamly good luck, or the Naal in question was a newbie
(1091) GM: Or overconfidant and in unfamilier territory where we blunt ears held the home court advantage Suki adds, and they concede that as a third possibility
(1091) GM: free RP
(1093) Febrith Nyx walks up to one of the other Trow and flats out, "What nation are you with and where did you find this level of technology?"
(1091) GM: The Trow looks at you wierdly , and at the odd accent. "Nation? You mean planet."
(1093) Febrith Nyx: No, I mean nation. Apart from these blunt-ears, the Trow have always been on this world…
(1091) GM: The drow snickers and a nearby one sighs.
(1091) GM: ((trow))
(1091) GM: (9whatever))
(1091) Trow: That might be, but /we/ didn't come from here.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett walks in on the conversation and is about ready to turn around…
(1091) Trow: ((I'll wait a few unless thats it for the Free RP…))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah hmms, listening to the others and glancing about. "Huh. Interesting. Especially seeing how the world is listed as uninhabited. Possibly for a reason of some kind?" She hmms a little.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah thinks out loud, mostly.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: Wait this world is listed as uninhabited? IIIIIIIInnnnnnntttttteresting…
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( hehe ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah nods a little at that. "Very interesting. Had a random unlikely thought about that, but kinda dismissed it out of hand."
(1093) Febrith Nyx: If you off-world Trow are anything like the ones of this world, than the secret societies are the ones truly in control. I wonder if there is some sort of experiment they don't want to see disrupted going on here.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah scratches her head. "If someone didn't want it rising, and listed it as uninhabited, wondered if they might have listed it as a location for a weapons testing ground or such, myself."
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Properly paranoid yet?
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind: Probobly resources, remember the recording on that ship we found, something about crystals.
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind shrugs
(1093) Febrith Nyx: The experiment is probably more sociological in nature, given the gap in technology levels. And yes trying to cultivate some kind of resource may be part of the issue.
(1091) GM: Nyx also know about the crystal mines, and that a lot of crystals are dug up, but aren't really worth anything,
(1090) CWO3 Sarah hmms a little at that and nods slightly. "That would be… troubling at best."
(1091) GM: In fact yall know about them too, beauce of the overflights the recon pukes did early on after you arrived
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: "Of course, being purposely kept down so that others can take someone's most precious resource from them is… not without precedent. Or attempting to keep them down at least."
(1093) Febrith Nyx: I wonder if it could be those crystals. Say do you use crystals for anything? There rather worthless here.
(1091) Trow: You've got to be kidding right?
(1093) Febrith Nyx: No, I'm not.
(1091) Trow pulls a small electronic device from her pack and pops open the base of it and slides a glowing blue crystal out, the crytal is encased in a lattice of metal.
(1091) Trow: No beep beep.
(1091) Trow puts the crystal back in.
(1091) Trow: Beep beep.
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind: Oh snap, you just got told!
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind laughs
(1090) CWO3 Sarah peers over at Summerwind and laughs a little, shaking her head. "Be nice…"
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind: I am being nice.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: The next person to insult my intelligence dies in their sleep. That goes for the smart-mouthed one too, am I understood? I may be from a place where science and technology is not as advanced as you, but that does not mean I'm dumb.
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind continues doing what ever it was she was doing, and rolls her eyes.
(1091) Sgt. Summerwind: Sure, fine.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) suppresses a laugh as she catches the ass end of the conversation.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Rock will kill you as dead s any laser.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) looks at Nyx.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: So it's slave labor then, after a fashion? They get the locals to dig up a power source for someone else to come in and take them.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): And you will not threaten the lives of anyone under my command. I tend to take such things persoanlly.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) nods at Komi.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: I understand.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah makes a slight face at that, and shivers. "Yeah, not good, in either case." She shakes her head and sighs softly.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: Then how about hazing?
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): If you as the new person wish to be hazed, then I see no problem with it. I will inform the others.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) deadpans.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: I have no issues with that. But be warned, I also have no qualms with proportionate revenge.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah snickers at Suki's comment.
(1091) GM: The wounded are all taken care of as best as can be expected, the tribal locals show up a day or so later to see the results of the sky gods titanic fight, and bring offerings, just in case.
(1091) GM: The advanced Trow are frankly shocked to see the tribal Trow, and even more perplexed at the rather benevolant and eglatarian manner in which the blunt ears treat them,
(1091) GM: No sign of exploitation here, move along
(1091) GM: It's also obvious that the tribal Trow and the blunt ears have not only traded in goods, but in bedfellows
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett attempts to explain the situation.
(1091) GM: The XO of the downed ship had also informed you all that they did manage to get a Mayday out before they were downed, dispite the best efforts of the Bondar ship to jam it, and, also, after a forensic examination of the non Trow mecha, it is confirmed that they are in fact Bondar Mercenaries. the Bondar being a warlike piratical race that have no real set territory, but are active all along the Imperial frontier.
(1091) GM: (the bondar look reminisent to a Taurain from ME2)
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: ((there's a joke there…))
(1091) GM: ((yes, I know, and Good on Kain, getting hiself some Trow nookie! you go boi!)
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( Turian? or different ME2? lol ))
(1091) GM: ((yeah that jeez, do I HAVE to speel every little thing perfectly…))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( lol ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( well, Turians were in both games, and there could be more than one ME2 to consider that I don't know of. and… hehe ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( anyhow… ))
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: At this rate I'm going to end up with an unwanted harem…
(1090) CWO3 Sarah blinks and frowns just a little at the information. "Sound like a really lovely bunch." she shakes her head slightly, then snickers at Kain. "Naughty."
whispering to Carrie, Suki snerks at that, as if the two of you and a few of the locals havent had their fun together.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea laughs a little at the harem comment and stretches out.
(1091) GM: A few days later the sensors detect a few ships entering the system, and the downed ship XO is able to confirm that they are friendly (to the Trow at least)
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett has the team set on standby JUST in case.
(1091) GM: A ship decends, after a few minute of communications back and forth (Dystroyer in pic)
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea: (( eek ))
(1091) GM: The mood of the advanced Trow noticibly improves at seeing a friendly vessle.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Well, there goes our monopoly of power.
(1091) Colonial Ship Captain: Aye, that it does.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: If they aren't friendly, we're dead.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea glances over at that and makes a little face
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: "Well, depending on what is and isn't going on, and why the planet lists as uninhabited… there's definitely a potential possibility."
(1091) GM: A side party lands in a shuttle and the representative from the hovering ship of the line appraoches and is met by the XO of the downed ship, and the XO of the VM, with Balaa as translator.
(1091) GM: The meeting seems to go well and the VM XO returns with Balaa and the Trow XO goes with the representative along with the most grivously wounded.
(1091) XO: Well, they aren't going to blast us to bits, thats the good news.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: And the bad news?
(1091) XO: Well, we have broken the law by entering their space un announced and without permission.
(1091) XO: I figure that was boiler plate from their man on the ground, at anyrate, they want a side party to shuffle on up to their ship to discuss the situation with their captain.
(1091) Colonial Ship Captain: Ishida, you and Paul will deal with that, meanwhile I'll keep us at general quarters until you return. If you get into trouble, send a busrt transmission, at this range, we should be able to tear thru that ship like tissue paper. Of course the other two in orbit will vape us, but…anyway.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Well, Andahl and Maeless handled that Invid situation really nicely. Perhaps a similar tract?
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) nods
(1093) Febrith Nyx assumes she is in the room, "Did they say anything about me or this planet?"
(1091) XO: No, but I'm sure they will once we are aboard their ship.
(1091) XO: And frankly, I didnt mention you to them, not a complication we need to deal with right now.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Well, lets be about it. Meet you in the hanger bay in thirty minutes, I'm assuming dress uniform?
(1091) Colonial Ship Captain nods.
(1091) Colonial Ship Captain: Best face forward and all that. You to Paul, to the nines with you.
(1091) XO: Aye sir.
(1091) GM: The pair in their disimiler Dress Uniforms toddle off and to the meet and greet and a few hours later (no 'oh shit' button is pressed) they return.
(1093) Febrith Nyx gets dressed up to her best, just in case they have her tag along. [1d100] => [4] = (4) vs 70 Wardrobe and Grooming…
(1091) GM: The results are thus, they understand, now, about our mishap, and recognize we did not intend offence. That and the positive feedback from the crew of the downed ship went a long way to prove we acted in good faith.
(1091) GM: They also found the damage we inflicted upon the Bondar agreeable, (their mecha bits are being loaded up to be taken back as evidance, trophy's intell, you name it)
(1091) GM: They cannot repair the VM with the ships on hand due to opposed design philosophy, but a proper facility might be able to fabricate the parts. No, they cannot lift the VM off the surface either.
(1091) GM: There is also a judicial and potentially political aspect in play now regards the fact an unpopulated world is populated.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: ((Maybe a Capship, could, but a destroyer? No.))
(1091) GM: ((maybe))
(1091) GM: ((the general consensus is that they are not willing to dispatch a ship that could, or at least the flotilla commander in orbit dont have the pull to make that call))
(1091) GM: The confirmation of a Naal Assassian in the mix is also worrisome, to what end, the flotilla commander cannot say, but whatever it is, it's not likely to turn out good.
(1091) GM: What they can do, is take a team to one of their worlds where they can see about getting a tow.
(1091) GM: Also, this is a deal for teh higher ups, and the flotilla commander is willing to provide transportation, but really, wants this off his plate so she can get back to doing more important things with her ships.
(1091) GM: Nyx will have to part of the team as the flotilla commander expects some folks in the judiciary will want to speak with her long and hard about their presence here.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: ((interrogation and psychological warfare, AWAY!))
(1091) GM: So select you team, and grab you kit and woosh
(1091) GM: you can choose who stays or goes, regards your characters
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: As much as I would love to pull a Captain Kirk, I think it's best if Amdahl, Maeless, and Nyx go. Balaa is going to be necessary for translation. Beyond that I have no voice in the matter. I probably overstepped some bounds already anyway.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( lol ))
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Madressa, do you desire to go? I wish to hand back because of how I nearly botched that one mission with the princeling.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): I'll go as well, as ranking UEEF. I will leave Fairman behind.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: ((hang back…))
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) nods
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): That makes you acting CAG Crockett,
(1090) CWO3 Sarah relaxes just a little at the notion of Suki going along, nodding just a bit.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): I'm also going to leave our mecha behind, since you will likely need them more then we will.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): However, our Cylones in box mode should be unobtrusive enough.
(1093) 2LT Kain Crokett: Understood, I'll try to keep your pilots in working condition.
(1090) 2Lt. Aylanea hmms and shrugs. "I'll stay behind, if something should come up, I'm probably better here shooting at things, than anything else."
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: Probably don't want to take much more than knives and side arms as far as weapons. Hell, we need to pack more clothes than anthid.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: ((*anything…))
(1091) Colonial Ship Captain: I'll send a machinests mate and engineer along as well. Since as talaneted as you ladies are, you dont know snot about the workings of my ship.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: Not yet…
(1090) CWO3 Sarah raises her eyebrows a little at Nyx. "Planning to figure it out to dissect and send back one piece at a time?" She grins.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: If need be.
(1091) GM: You prep to leave (just write down what you are taking and shoot that to me) and the locals present offerings, and you are given a bag of pretty crystals (none all that large) and fruits.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah laughs a little and shakes her head slightly.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: But I prefer not to do destructive reverse engineering whenver possible. It robs you of potential useful tech.
(1091) GM: You are picked up by a Trow shuttle and taken aboard the Destroyer.
(1091) GM: You are given quarters for the trip (carrie if you care to see what they look like, ask james I'm sure he has a pic on file)
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( lol ))
(1093) Febrith Nyx: Well, at least they know how to travel in style,
(1091) GM: The trip takes a few days, and the first thing you UEEF folks realize is, that they dont use a fold drive,
(1090) CWO3 Sarah glances around at the quarters and tries to not be nervous.
(1091) GM: You are of course invited to dine with the captain and her staff…
(1091) GM: ((not really gonna RP that))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( k ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( hehehe ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( didn't figure ))
(1091) GM: You arrive in time, and are offloaded to waiting station reprentatives and a largish space stataion in orbit over a moon.
(1091) GM: The Destroyer captain bids you farewell and good luck…
(1091) GM: You also find that your bag of crystals is worth all told once converted to Ada, (the local currancy) that you have what would amount to maybe 5,000$
(1093) Febrith Nyx: So where's the welcome party? iIm surprised no one has pointed a gun at me yet.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah glances at Nyx idly, raising her eyebrows. "I'm rather glad no one has." She shrugs.
(1091) GM: The captain also tells you where to get it exchanged and tell you to claim it as a gift so you dont get pinched for smuggling…
(1091) GM: The station rep's escort you to the hab section and provide you a few guest suites.
(1091) GM: Nothing fancy, a bedroom, bathroom, dining room etc, your run of the mill hotel suite
(1093) Febrith Nyx is awed by the tech. Where she's from this is still the freaking lap of luxury.
(1091) GM: Ishida suggests you convert the crystals (at least some of them) into cash, and pick a local outfit or two.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah nods quickly to Suki.
(1091) GM: Later after some quick shopping and food, always with a guard or three nearby, a judiciary envoy arrives to speak with you
(1091) GM: The situation is explained to her, in detail.
(1093) Febrith Nyx dresses to impress. [1d100] => [53] = (53) vs 73 Wardrobe
(1091) GM: Nyx, and the remainder of teh crystal serve as evidance.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless dresses to impress. [1d100] => [61] = (61) vs 70 Wardrobe
(1091) GM: [1d100] => [14] = (14) Suki W/S
(1091) GM: ((Unf unf unf!))
(1091) GM: ((she kows how to work it))
(1091) GM: Knows))
(1093) Febrith Nyx: ((she's still up against Nyx at PB 31 right now…))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah doesn't have style or wardrobe, just her own personality. [1d100] => [32] = (32) charm vs. 90% (pb 24 only), and [1d100] => [3] = (3) trust vs. 97%
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( thbt ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( hehe ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( hard to top a sweet lil angel who even has a glowing halo ;p j/k ))
(1093) Febrith Nyx: ((lol))
(1093) Febrith Nyx makes her case, and even explains the "world reset" events on her homeworld.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: [1d100] => [8] = (8) vs 92 Charm Impress, [1d100] => [12] = (12) vs 78 anthropology (for notes on the differences of their cultures, and the development of their societies), [1d100] => [45] = (45) vs 63 Psychology to read the justice and provide more details she would like.
(1091) GM: All in all the case is made.
(1091) GM: And, in truth, the humies are there to corroborate the story as well as provide technical data (i.e the overflight data) which, also, is the first time Nyx has seen this, and while gettinguse to the concept of high tech, is still amazed to see a FULL and detailed map of her planet, including close ups of major cities, and a few battlefields. Again, FULL, having been collected in a few months what the nations of her world have yet to complete (like earth, a lot was unexplored in 1900
(1093) Febrith Nyx drools over the maps.
(1091) GM: The judiciary pre takes this all in stride, and you get the feeling that they know a bit more then they let on, but accept the data and story.
(1091) GM: After that they leave, thanking you, and say they will be in touch if anything else crops up.
(1091) GM: They also give you visitor visa's etc
(1093) Febrith Nyx: Something always crops up, anyone NOT accustomed to sleeping with a pistol under their pillow should start…
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) responds with a wry grin.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah looks over. "Maybe that's just a function of the issues on your world." She shrugs. "And as for sleeping with a pistol, well…" She smiles and shrugs.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: [1d8] => [7] = (7)
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: ((ack wrong button))
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Well then, we have tasks to accomplish, lets see to it.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: Would a knife work?
(1090) CWO3 Sarah nods to Suki. "yes, ma'am."
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: So besides fabrication of parts, and possibly food stuffs, what else do we need to do?
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Likely procure transportation of said parts once they are complete, I would think payment would be a factor as well. And, we still have an overiding mission to accomplish.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah nods at that.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): So lets get the engineers to a shipwright.
(1090) CWO3 Sarah nods at that.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: Then I guess we need to hit a museum and talk to archeologists about the books and that wierd stargate?
(1091) GM: You have a hot key for that Sarah…or what
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: "be nice if they could learn something of how the ships and drives are built here, though I rather doubt there'll be time, or willingness."
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( :p ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( rar ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( I was typing more ))
(1090) CWO3 Sarah hmms a little bit. "That's another thing I wondered about, was what they might make of some of the stuff from those books."
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) shrugs
Server Administrator-> Good Evening, ARC!
(1091) GM: Roll rolls
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: "Likely need to find a historian for that though, and no copies of the book info along."..

(1090) CWO3 Sarah: [1d100] => [69] = (69) seduction vs. 84% too (in case needed)
(1091) GM: Even the Trow think lights skins is sexy sometimes
(1090) CWO3 Sarah: (( gonna lose link, brb ))
(1091) GM: You locate a shipwright, after a few false starts, that will be able to do the work needed. But, it aint gonna be cheap. And it's gonna take them a while. Metallurgy alone will take a month or so to get the alloy composition correct.

(1091) GM: On teh gate front, you dont find it where you think you would. And it might be nothing but, you find heartell of a gatelike looking object on an ancient mega structure deep within Bondar territory, there is a feature that looks like the gate, but if so, it is in massive disrepair.

(1093) Febrith Nyx: ((uses super apoxy to stick Carrie to the room))
(1178) CWO3 Sarah: (( sorry ))
(1091) GM: On the money front Balaa returns with a flyer. And presents it sheepishly.
(1178) CWO3 Sarah: (( :p ))
(1091) GM: No, it's not a job application at the local whore house
(1091) GM: But it is, after some reading, the local equivelant of the FFL
(1091) GM: French Foreign legion
(1178) CWO3 Sarah blinks just a little bit
(1178) CWO3 Sarah: (( hehe ))
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual) sighs
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: How long are we expected to be here?
(1091) Balaa: I'm sorry, I couldnt find anything else.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): For as long as it takes, the engineers say it will a be a while before the material needed to even start fabrication will be ready.
(1093) Febrith Nyx: Hiring ourselves out as mercs isn't an entirely bad idea, depending on things like lenght of service and such.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): And, it is the fastest way to make decent money
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): I for one do not feel like waiting tables.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: Couldn't it be a conflict of interests at soem point?
(1178) CWO3 Sarah hmms just a little bit at that and nods. "Our own equipment or we learning theirs?"
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): No, we have a mission to accomplish, and this is a means to an end. Plus, being in a region of psace so far removed from our own, a conflict of interests in moot.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): I would imagine theirs, but you know more about that sort of thing then we do, Miss resistance fighter.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): At anyrate, if the money is good, we can always buy out our contract…if thats allowed…
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Not somthing I have all that much experiance with honestly.
(1093) 2LT Komillia Maeless: Great…
(1178) CWO3 Sarah nods just a little bit at that and smiles. "Yep."
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): Well, we can file that as Plan B.
(1091) Cpt Ishida (Delta Actual): So, unless we come up with a better Plan A…
(1091) Balaa: At least they would feed you…right?
