Chapter 11 - Act II - Part 4

BEGIN LOG

[07:45:12] GM: Komi, you and Ay have been working on the Tsienglaug for better then a month and a half. Roll any skills you feel relevant.
[07:46:09] GM: Also since no forum posts were made regards off camera stuff, I am assuming that you (and Ay) did nothing extracurricular while you tended your work.
[07:46:56] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( nothing exciting anyway ))
[07:48:26] Lt. Jaron: (sorry, wife is sick and needy tonight :( )
[07:48:30] 2LT Komillia: [1d100] => [73] = (73) vs 95 Pilot Bioroid, [1d100] => [14] = (14) vs 70 RSI, [1d100] => [100] = (100) vs 70 Recognize Weapon Quality, [1d100] => [43] = (43) vs 45 Public Speaking (on how being overdependent on missile laden machines can be bad)
[07:48:52] GM: Roll a trust roll to back up your Public Speaking
[07:49:01] GM: Roger that Jaron, give her my best
[07:49:08] 2LT Komillia: ((wasn't even aware there was a post, but I can't see her doing anything interesting.))
[07:49:25] 2LT Komillia: [1d100] => [12] = (12) vs 40
[07:51:00] GM: You are able to convince some to your viewpoint, but, you aren't sure if it's a philosophical meeting of the minds or the logistics issue (wherein missiles are expensive to produce and wasteful when fired at an enemy that has a very effective countermeasure system in place)
[07:51:42] 2LT Komillia: ((I'm sure some logistics would come up in Komi's speech anyway. >.>))
[07:52:02] GM: Either way, you are able to trend the design team to favor optional attachable missile pods rather then internal bays.
[07:52:30] GM: As for Weapon Quality…all I can say is…Oh! Shiny!
[07:52:40] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( rotfl ))
[07:52:52] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( or squirrel ))
[07:53:34] GM: No, with a 100, I take that to be that Komi loves the TG so much it could fall apart after each use and she'd still fly it.
[07:54:35] GM: Piloting and RSI, you have mastered the systems of the machine, but are far more comfy with the user interface then the actual flying of the craft.
[07:54:38] 2Lt. Aylanea: [1d100] => [26] = (26) RSI (73), [1d100] => [96] = (96) Pilot VT (78), [1d100] => [6] = (6) Weapon Systems (78) [1d20] => [3] = (3) perc
[07:55:24] GM: Ay is likewise comfortable with the UI, but part way thru evaluation she totaled Unit 4.
[07:55:31] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( hehehe ))
[07:55:38] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( oops ))
[07:55:59] GM: Proving once and for all that the TG, while very simple to operate, is not Zent proof.
[07:56:41] 2LT Komillia: Ay, you need to do some image training. The Bioroid interface works more on mind than body.
[07:56:41] GM: the tag line in the test bay being "Tsienglaug, so easy a Zent can use is…mostly."
[07:57:53] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( hehehe ))
[07:57:57] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( *bllush* ))
[07:58:27] Lt. Jaron: (hehe)
[07:58:55] GM: And that brings me to the question I want to see answered in RP between Ay and Komi…what UI system do you recommend for the new craft? Full size zent cocpit as it is now, a 2 seater version based on the Praxian mods to the Gnerl, or a Masters bioroid style cockpit, anything in between or a combination of the three. Or, something I haven't thought of.
[08:01:13] 2LT Komillia: Hey Doc, you guys ever try merging Bioroid and conventional control systems. Have Auxiliary systems, fine use of the hands and such activate with mental commands while the rest is more traditionally controlled for those who cannot get used to full Bioroid control usage?
[08:01:57] 2LT Komillia: Create a nice and simple linear seat where you can put up more Huds, to make it easier to see where everything is?
[08:03:22] Sutherland: Interesting idea Kom doll!
[08:04:27] 2LT Komillia: I didn't come up with it, I just watch a lot of mecha anime, and such a thing does come up from time-to-time.
[08:04:51] 2LT Komillia: I just translated the idea into real world tech.
[08:05:02] Sutherland: Hey, I'm all for the odd and creative, and fine manipulation of the hands oh baby!
[08:05:04] 2Lt. Aylanea hmms at that."I'd say a modular cockpit, but I'm rather doubting that concept in terms of having enough materials to do it. Having a plug-in cockpit with whichever controls someone is more used to would be more helpful, for letting everyone specify, but…" She hmms. "Depending on how easy the control system for the bioroid is to get trained for, it might be a better option. The Veritech cockpit would be my personal preference, but I suppose not all could get used to that either."
[08:05:54] Sutherland: Now that's consensus. But so boring.
[08:06:19] Sutherland: Course, the bigwigs'll likely agree with Ay on some of that, KISS and all
[08:07:14] 2Lt. Aylanea: "or simply 'whatever gets the most people in the cockpit the soonest.', really."
[08:07:17] Sutherland: I'm so torn, two beautiful babes and two beautiful ideas, whats a genius to do?
[08:07:22] 2LT Komillia: Big wigs + new ideas = irrational rejections, most of the time
[08:08:08] Sutherland: Well, good thing bout the big wigs, most are none to bright when it comes to engineering, and even those that think they are are no match for my brain.
[08:09:19] 2LT Komillia: Until one of them decides to jump into a cockpit for test runs. I hear a lot of them are former pilots.
[08:09:40] Sutherland: Ah yes, but those leaders are on the SDF-3 which means they are no where near Karberra!
[08:10:37] Sutherland: So ladies what will it be, something plug and play or something we need to invent?
[08:10:51] Sutherland looks at Ay with the PnP, and at Komi with the invent
[08:11:06] 2LT Komillia: Rock, Paper, Scissors?
[08:11:35] 2LT Komillia: Or a glaug duel, no live ammo of course.
[08:11:48] GM: Roll 1d3 (best 2 out of three) 1=Rock 2=Paper and 3=Scissors
[08:11:56] 2LT Komillia: [1d3] => [2] = (2)
[08:11:58] 2Lt. Aylanea laughs slightly and hmms.
[08:12:00] 2Lt. Aylanea: [1d3] => [3] = (3)
[08:12:07] GM: Ay wins
[08:12:23] 2LT Komillia: Rar!
[08:12:27] GM: roll again
[08:12:31] GM: best 2 out of 3
[08:12:33] 2LT Komillia: [1d3] => [1] = (1)
[08:12:54] 2Lt. Aylanea: [1d3] => [2] = (2)
[08:12:55] GM: Ay?
[08:12:58] GM: Ay wins
[08:13:06] Lt. Jaron: (she was hacking that roll :) )
[08:13:25] 2LT Komillia: ((I don't doubt it.))
[08:13:27] Sutherland: Looks like we go with the modular.
[08:13:35] Sutherland nestles up to Komi.
[08:13:56] Sutherland: Oh but I do so want to hear more on your hybrid idea. maybe over dinner, maybe over me?
[08:14:15] 2LT Komillia: Okay, last time you tried that, you felll into my bra and got caught by the underwire…
[08:14:28] Sutherland: Oh that was a good day.
[08:14:34] Sutherland: Such a good day
[08:15:18] 2LT Komillia: And sure, I know a mirror cafe we can go to, just don't get so caught up looking up the waitress's skirt you stop listening.
[08:15:41] Sutherland: Komi! I'm hurt, I have eyes only for you.
[08:15:52] Sutherland sneaks a look at Ay. Then winks at Komi
[08:15:59] 2LT Komillia: And I's supposed to believe you?
[08:16:02] 2Lt. Aylanea blinks at Komi and raises her eyebrows.
[08:16:09] 2Lt. Aylanea laughs softly.
[08:17:14] GM: So we will go with a modular cockpit for the TG, plug an play, 1 seat 2 seat and 'roid.
[08:19:56] GM: Both Komi and Ay get the skill Pilot: Zentraedi Ground Mecha: Officer Pod. And MECT Battlpods
[08:20:54] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( woot. ))
[08:20:55] 2LT Komillia: ((woot!))
[08:21:15] 2LT Komillia: ((Ay's been ninja'd))
[08:22:51] GM: Komi, Sutherland take you out for nom and talk shop. Up to you where that ends up.
[08:23:19] GM: I'llleave you witha quote from Revenge of the Nerds…
[08:23:30] GM: All jocks think about is sports, all nerds think about is sex.
[08:24:50] GM: Jaron and Sarah on the otherhand have had their hands filled in training up Golf and Hotel Platoons
[08:25:05] Lt. Jaron: (yay)
[08:25:23] GM: ((well and a lot of reading on Jarons side))
[08:25:55] CWO3 Sarah: (( and getting to know any replacements in their own platoon., I'd think ))
[08:26:02] GM: very tru
[08:26:05] GM: ture
[08:26:10] GM: I'll stop now
[08:26:47] GM: okay, Ay, or Sarah, you had next higest roll…
[08:27:21] CWO3 Sarah: (( heh. I was the only other one who rolled :p :) ))
[08:27:25] CWO3 Sarah: (( *tickles* ))
[08:28:54] GM: so ay or sarah, your go
[08:31:24] CWO3 Sarah: (( *sigh* my brain is fogging over, sorry. Trying to think of something now. ))
[08:31:38] GM: kk, take your time …. Jaron
[08:32:28] Lt. Jaron: (k)
[08:33:19] Lt. Jaron makes sure the new troopers are squared away and adjusted.
[08:34:08] GM: Done and done
[08:34:22] GM: [1d100] => [11] = (11)
[08:34:29] GM: Yup, by and large, adjusted.
[08:35:14] Lt. Jaron decides to chat with Rezal about some Tirolian history since Komi is away
[08:35:34] GM: ((komi isn't so away that you cant talk to her…))
[08:35:55] Lt. Jaron: (Don’t want rumors to fly)
[08:36:41] 2LT Komillia: ((friendly chats need not invite rumor mills))
[08:37:10] GM: ((indeed, unless those chats involve formal dinner ware and candles at the table…))
[08:37:25] Lt. Jaron isn't as smooth as Sutherland
[08:38:04] GM: Well Sutherland likes Komi for her mind AND body
[08:38:37] Lt. Jaron chats with Rezal and tries to keep it on subject
[08:38:50] 2LT Komillia: ((If Sutherland is smooth then I'd hate to see rough and cocky))
[08:39:17] GM: ((hehe you said rough…and cocky hehehehehe))
[08:39:54] GM: ((yeah, I went there))
[08:40:09] ENS Rezal: How can I assist you Lieutenant?
[08:40:22] 2LT Komillia: ((No more random Shego pics for the GM…))
[08:40:57] GM: ((as if I didn't have a stable of em already…))
[08:41:42] Lt. Jaron: "Diana just wishing to know of some more current cultural aspects of Tirol"
[08:42:10] GM: Roger that. You'll have to be more specific though.
[08:43:38] Lt. Jaron: "General feeling towards the Masters and what you know of the reasons why Tirolian join UEEF"
[08:44:07] ENS Rezal: Masters left us to rot.
[08:44:40] ENS Rezal: Ran off to secure their future and left us to the invid.
[08:45:16] ENS Rezal: That and a 4 century long civil war prior.
[08:45:23] Lt. Jaron nods slowly "Did the populace know or have a feeling the Masters were about the abandon them?"
[08:47:43] Lt. Jaron: "From your point of view"
[08:47:49] ENS Rezal: The masters abandoned to run of the mill they day they took to orbit on their motherships leaving the rank and file on the surface. That was six hundred years ago.
[08:47:59] ENS Rezal: So no, no surprise there.
[08:49:26] Lt. Jaron: "Did any of your family fight before you?"
[08:49:47] ENS Rezal: I'm a clone sir. so, maybe.
[08:51:27] Lt. Jaron: "Thanks for being candid with me Diana. What was your reason to join the Fleet?"
[08:51:54] ENS Rezal: Well, part pragmatism, part idealism.
[08:52:40] ENS Rezal: UEEF b eat back the Invid, and brought back law and order. They also offered opportunity and three squares a day.
[08:53:48] ENS Rezal: Plus, they gave the opportunity to defend Tirol. Well, before we got pushed off world.
[08:54:36] ENS Rezal shrugs with a wry smile.
[08:56:29] Lt. Jaron nods "Thank you for your opinion Diana but now I wish to know something. Could you help me with my Tirolian? Reading it is different than speaking it."
[08:56:59] ENS Rezal: No problem. Sure, I'd be happy to.
[08:57:22] ENS Rezal: I hear that Tiresian is very close to Earth latin.
[08:57:42] ENS Rezal: One of the 'wonders of the universe' that.
[08:57:44] Lt. Jaron smiles and nods "Thank you. Interesting"
[08:58:25] ENS Rezal: Yes, very, that one needs to know a dead language to understand a living one.
[08:58:43] Lt. Jaron: (Im good if need to switch up)
[08:59:04] GM: Sarah and or Ay, yer up
[09:01:41] CWO3 Sarah for her part generally tries to make sure everyone is settling in okay and that there aren't any major problems with how things are set up, generally.
[09:02:26] GM: Oh Jaron, take either Fleet or Naval Tactics as well as Lang Tirolian (at 1st level)
[09:02:34] Lt. Jaron: (k)
[09:09:52] CWO3 Sarah also keeps writing letters to Suki, and waiting for the mail always, of course, duh. :p
[09:10:28] CWO3 Sarah: (( wish me luck tomorrow, I'm told I'll need physical therapy to make shoulder stop hurting. How that is needed for sleeping on it I don't honestly know, but… ))
[09:10:47] GM: Sarah, during the month of March loses contact with Suki for a period of two weeks after which comms pick up, in her letters Suki alludes to enemy action, but says little on the subject.
[09:11:25] GM: Roll a mil etiquette (if have or IQ if not)
[09:13:07] GM: …
[09:13:31] CWO3 Sarah: [1d100] => [64] = (64) vs. 74%
[09:13:49] CWO3 Sarah: (( scraped knuckle started bleeding, sry. ))
[09:16:01] GM: The tone and content of the letters begin to spell out a few things. Suki seems to be base commander, the terrain and environmental conditions are abysmal (Haydonites are cyborgs per se and extreme temps do not bother them, humans on the other hand). She and the troops on post live in their CVR as the armor is climate controlled. There is life on the world, not all hostile, but having devoted their time to establishing themselves the UEEF 'ignored' the local fauna, to their annoyance.
[09:16:45] CWO3 Sarah: (( lol ))
[09:17:05] GM: And finally, Suki will be back in Karberra space on or around April 30th.
[09:17:48] 2LT Komillia: ((afk))
[09:19:39] GM: quick roll call
[09:20:01] CWO3 Sarah cheers up happily at the news of Suki coming back, of course.
[09:20:38] GM: kk, quick 5 min break while Jaron and Komi get back
[09:20:50] Lt. Jaron: (b)
[09:22:02] 2LT Komillia: ((back))
[09:24:58] GM: kk
[09:28:18] GM: Jaron, at next mail call, you receive a package. It's nondescript, the address info written in elegant Tiresian (save for the name of the recipient)
[09:28:35] Lt. Jaron quirks a brow and slowly opens it
[09:29:12] 2LT Komillia: ((kaboom!))
[09:29:16] 2LT Komillia: ((mail bomb))
[09:29:33] CWO3 Sarah: (( lmao ))
[09:31:39] GM: Inside is a key and a brief letter. "You have been a valued customer and forthright. I can think of no one else but you and one other to turn to in my time of need. Protect what the keys unlock. Your future depends on it."
[09:32:47] Lt. Jaron picks up the key and inspects it for any markings before looking at the writing on the package again
[09:33:42] GM: The key is an amalgam of a skeleton key and state of the art computerized code key.
[09:34:00] Lt. Jaron: tirolian lang [1d100] => [4] = (4)
[09:34:30] GM: The letter was written in English
[09:35:21] Lt. Jaron: (ok)
[09:37:07] GM: There is nothing else of note on the letter or the wrapping to the package.
[09:39:17] Lt. Jaron calls in McTabe
[09:39:45] PO2 McTabe arrives after 30 minutes or so.
[09:39:54] PO2 McTabe: You rang chief?
[09:40:24] Lt. Jaron shows the key "Could you find out where this might have came from?"
[09:40:46] PO2 McTabe also rings Sarah since the bossman wants to see her, she lets Sarah know just in case, protocol and all.
[09:41:10] Lt. Jaron: (hehe)
[09:41:15] PO2 McTabe: Lore: RT Masters vs 55% [1d100] => [37] = (37)
[09:42:24] Lt. Jaron calls in Cersons as well
[09:42:58] PO2 McTabe: Oh wow, thats old. Markings there are Archavist.
[09:45:05] ENS Cersons: Sup child, you want me for something?
[09:45:34] GM: Meanwhile thePC's are being neglected…
[09:46:16] CWO3 Sarah blinks a little and heads down once she gets the call from McTabe, out of her own curiousity.
[09:47:22] Lt. Jaron nods to Cersons "Yea, need you and McTabe to try and locate where this key cames from unless someone else knows"
[09:48:00] ENS Cersons: .me looks over the key (math advanced vs 97% [1d100] => [82] = (82))
[09:48:15] ENS Cersons whistles
[09:48:29] ENS Cersons: Now THATS a layerd code.
[09:48:45] 2LT Komillia pops by the squad room. "Anything up?"
[09:49:33] ENS Cersons: As to origin, (lore zent: vs 69% [1d100+20] => [89,20] = (109))
[09:49:37] ENS Cersons: No clue.
[09:50:34] PO2 McTabe: Lore [1d100] => [61] = (61) vs 55%
[09:50:49] PO2 McTabe: Dunno where it came from, you know any archavists?
[09:50:57] Lt. Jaron shows key to Komi "Got this in the mail"
[09:52:16] 2LT Komillia: A key?
[09:52:17] Lt. Jaron: "Not really, only person close I would think is a book store owner where I get my Tirolian literature from"
[09:52:53] 2LT Komillia: Any clue on the keyhole? And it looks computerized any chance a tech can check to see what lock it goes to?
[09:53:51] 2LT Komillia: ((No, Komi wouldn't know.))
[09:54:47] Lt. Jaron points to Cerson as the tech comment "Unless you know someone better Komi"
[09:55:11] 2LT Komillia: Could let Sutherland's crew take a crack at it, I guess..
[09:55:31] ENS Cersons: I've never seen anything like this before.
[09:55:35] 2LT Komillia: If nothing else, he'd have better equipment to check it out in his lab.
[09:56:59] GM: By now Sarah has arrived
[09:57:49] GM: ((she can be as flshy as she woants, walk in or pop in…))
[09:58:48] CWO3 Sarah walks into the room quietly after the call from McTabe, and wanders over to the others. "What's going on?"
[09:59:55] GM: …
[10:00:12] Lt. Jaron shows key to Sarah "got this in the mail…archavist key they say"
[10:00:16] CWO3 Sarah: (( …'s back ))
[10:03:00] 2LT Komillia: Well, if nobody has any better ideas, let's take it to Sutherland's lab then.
[10:04:16] GM: Well?
[10:04:20] Lt. Jaron nods to Komillia "Alright then. Thanks Jenna and Nova for your help, we'll keep you in the loop on what we find."
[10:04:38] ENS Cersons nods.
[10:04:52] PO2 McTabe: Hoo kay.
[10:05:15] 2LT Komillia leads the way to Sutherland's lab, calling ay on her way to the fliying fish.
[10:05:47] Lt. Jaron keeps the key with him on the way to the lab
[10:05:57] 2LT Komillia: Hey Ay. Jaron, Sarah and I are heading to Sutherland's lab to get a key card checked out want to tag along?
[10:06:03] GM: [1d100+30] => [10,30] = (40)
[10:06:30] 2Lt. Aylanea hurries to join the others. "Sure."
[10:07:39] GM: Tima and a half goes by as you hop a Rabbit to the Reprisal and languish for 45 minutes as you and Sutherland work to gain Jaron access to the lab area.
[10:08:35] GM: Sarah, you are denied access, period.
[10:09:44] GM: An hour later Komi, Ay and Jaron enter the lab area.
[10:10:36] 2LT Komillia: Alright boys we got a doozy of an encrypted key and wondered if anyone had a moment to take a look at it?
[10:10:51] Sutherland: Oh for you sweetness, anything.
[10:11:29] Sutherland: Lets see what you have.
[10:11:49] 2LT Komillia: Lt. Jaron.
[10:14:06] Lt. Jaron hands Sutherland the key
[10:15:37] Sutherland runs a few tests and is able to gain the following. The original key is old, very old, on the order of 8500 years old (the computer coding is new, having been added to the key as early as 3400 years ago, being updated as needed according to the times.) Beyond that, it's a key to a lock of some sort, (Duh!) the location and nature of which is unknown.
[10:17:42] Sutherland: Woo, talk about a blast from the past!
[10:18:31] GM: annnnnd the group is speechless lol
[10:19:06] GM sits back looking all smug and shit
[10:19:36] 2LT Komillia: 8500 years ago ? Was anything important going on back then? I know nothing of Tirolian history.
[10:19:39] Lt. Jaron takes the key back "Indeed Mr. Sutherland."
[10:20:14] Lt. Jaron tries his knowledge history: tirolian [1d100] => [42] = (42) vs 46
[10:20:43] GM: Only four words come to mind Jaron. Birth of Tiresian Culture.
[10:22:20] GM: Seeing as Tirolian civilization started to appear appoximatly 6500 BCE…
[10:23:30] GM: The key's orignes predate that rough figure by 45 years
[10:24:21] GM: Writing developed, oh, 700 years later…
[10:25:02] GM: give or take a century or two
[10:25:55] 2LT Komillia: ((For when Jaron speaks up:)) Okay, that's wierd, so what happened 3400 years ago?
[10:27:26] Sutherland: Well thats easy, 1355 CE was approximatly the time in which the Zentradi were created.
[10:28:00] Sutherland: That means you baby in all your gargantuan glory
[10:28:00] 2LT Komillia: So, this is something that predates Robotechnology, and one of the oldest space faring civs out there?
[10:28:08] Sutherland: Oh easily!
[10:28:19] Sutherland: Hell this predates Tiresian culture entirely
[10:28:54] Sutherland: Well Tiresian culture as WE know it
[10:28:57] 2LT Komillia: So we have a precursor race on our hands?
[10:29:07] Sutherland: Looks like it
[10:29:13] Lt. Jaron: "but why me?"
[10:29:26] 2LT Komillia: You made the right friend?
[10:29:33] Sutherland: Always heard the legends of the 'Settlers', never thought I'd see proof.
[10:30:04] Lt. Jaron shrugs
[10:30:27] Lt. Jaron: "I can see if the book store owner knows anything"
[10:33:02] Lt. Jaron: "Thanks for the info Mr. Sutherland, guess I have to do the rest on foot sorta"
[10:33:31] 2LT Komillia: Sounds like a place to go next. Thanks Sutherland. This makes up for your performance last night. Do yourself a favor: No more Karaoke. Ever.
[10:34:04] Lt. Jaron smirks abit and steps to the side to call the others and telling them what they found
[10:34:57] Sutherland: Hey babe, I didn't hear any complaint afterward.
[10:35:06] Lt. Jaron then asks the ladies (rezal, mctabe, cersons) to sharpen up on their history that long ago and don't tell anyone else for now
[10:35:41] 2LT Komillia: Being drunk does that.
[10:35:58] Sutherland: I assure you, it was mutual.
[10:36:22] Lt. Jaron calls Sarah "Can you get us a transport ready, we are heading over to the Pheonix"
[10:36:59] Sutherland: But freaking AWESOME!
[10:37:40] GM: Transportation is easily enough secured.
[10:37:44] CWO3 Sarah: (( kk ))
[10:38:02] GM: ((hell flights are like clockwork…))
[10:38:31] GM: Aboard the Phoenix you make your way to the lower levels wherin the book store resides.
[10:38:51] GM: Arriving at the location within the back ally you see police tape over a busted open door.
[10:39:06] GM: [1d100+10] => [23,10] = (33)
[10:39:27] Lt. Jaron looks around as he approaches (perception [1d20+4] => [18,4] = (22))
[10:39:30] GM: Roll precs all those that went along (Jaron, let us know who that is pelase)
[10:39:44] Lt. Jaron: (komi, sarah, ay)
[10:39:46] GM: Jaron, you feel like eyes are on you…
[10:40:01] 2LT Komillia: [1d20] => [17] = (17)
[10:40:08] Lt. Jaron: (any police?)
[10:40:14] GM: Same Komi, you feel like you are being watched.
[10:40:17] GM: Negative
[10:40:58] 2LT Komillia: Keep your guard up.
[10:41:02] CWO3 Sarah: [1d20+1] => [12,1] = (13)
[10:41:08] 2Lt. Aylanea: [1d20] => [20] = (20)
[10:41:09] Lt. Jaron moves to the taped door and looks inside before glancing around again (detect concealment [1d100] => [27] = (27) vs 80)
[10:41:51] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( pika :) ))
[10:42:03] Lt. Jaron: (hehe)
[10:44:12] GM: Ay, you feel the same 'over the shoulder stare' as the others and looking over siad shoulder see some furtive movement within a 4th story window some 300 ft down the alley. You look closer and all you can see afterward is a drape flapping in the wind created by the shipboard ventilation systems.
[10:44:43] GM: Sarah, nothing.
[10:45:41] GM: Jaron, despite the great roll, you see much the same as Ay.
[10:46:03] 2Lt. Aylanea blinks a little at that, peering up at the alleyway. "Someone /was/ watching from a fourth story window… not good." She frowns.
[10:46:12] Lt. Jaron goes to enter the store
[10:46:32] GM: The store inside is dark, no lights are on.
[10:46:53] GM: Roll a PP check
[10:46:54] Lt. Jaron tries to a light switch "Indeed and this is disturbing"
[10:47:00] GM: (d 30 vs PP score)
[10:47:11] Lt. Jaron: [1d30] => [14] = (14) vs 18
[10:47:29] GM: You enter and trip over a pile of books on the floor.
[10:48:03] GM: ((wait, nm, you don’t trip…sorry))
[10:48:18] Lt. Jaron stumbles a bit but catches himself
[10:48:23] GM: You enter and kick a pile of books, but save yourself an embarrassing tumble.
[10:48:25] Lt. Jaron: "watch your step"
[10:48:38] Lt. Jaron: (light switch?)
[10:48:46] GM: Perc
[10:49:21] Lt. Jaron: [1d20+4] => [17,4] = (21)
[10:49:51] Lt. Jaron: (btw, jaron had a b-day on april 15th. Just thought of that)
[10:50:27] GM: You remember having seen one ont eh wall during your prior visits. You pat the wall and find it and bring the lights up. The interior of the shop is in shambles, in the vernacular of the police. This place has been 'tossed'.
[10:50:42] 2LT Komillia: ((The day after Super Robot Wars Z2 comes out.))
[10:50:53] GM: ((APT!))
[10:51:28] Lt. Jaron frowns abit and steps over the books carefully as he heads to the his regular section
[10:51:45] Lt. Jaron: (towards*)
[10:51:48] GM: The entire store has been 'tossed' .
[10:52:13] GM: Whoever did this wasn't trying to be subtle.
[10:53:24] Lt. Jaron sighes and heads to the counter
[10:53:40] GM: The register has been untouched.
[10:54:03] 2LT Komillia looks around for anything odd. [1d20] => [14] = (14) Perc
[10:54:15] CWO3 Sarah looks in quickly at the store, frowning a little and looking as well. [1d20+1] => [12,1] = (13)
[10:54:55] GM: Sarah nothing
[10:55:09] GM: Komi, you see some dried blood on the rug.
[10:55:23] 2Lt. Aylanea blinks and takes her own look [1d20] => [14] = (14)
[10:55:30] Lt. Jaron looks for a rear door and hallway to the back [1d20+4] => [17,4] = (21)
[10:55:34] 2LT Komillia: There was a fight hear. Look, some blood.
[10:55:37] 2Lt. Aylanea: (( about the same as Komi, huh? lol ))
[10:56:10] GM: Jaron, you find the back room. It's relitivly small, maybe 20 by 40 foot at most, it to has been tossed.
[10:56:11] Lt. Jaron furrows his brow
[10:56:32] GM: And the door to it has been busted off the hinges.
[10:57:30] Lt. Jaron: "There is nothing here to help us I dont think. Need to go to the police and see if they know anything then maybe find the owner"
[10:59:09] Lt. Jaron starts to head out
[10:59:17] GM: and the others?
[11:00:02] GM: [1d100] => [18] = (18)
[11:00:29] 2LT Komillia gives one last look over before heading out herself. [1d20] => [9] = (9) perc
[11:00:41] GM: Nothing new is noticed.
[11:01:19] Lt. Jaron waits for the others to depart before trying to put the police tape back up some
[11:01:35] GM: ((I figure you just ducked uner it…))
[11:01:41] GM: ((under))
[11:02:06] Lt. Jaron: (ok)[11:02:32] Lt. Jaron heads off to the station
[11:03:51] CWO3 Sarah takes a last look as well, frowning. [1d20+1] => [13,1] = (14) before following along to the station as well
[11:03:55] CWO3 Sarah: (( fail ))
[11:04:00] CWO3 Sarah: (( I sux tonight ))
[11:05:44] GM: You enter the 'station house' and see Tiresian police at work. It's not a pretty sight. You see the usual suspects in the wiating area, whores, con men, and other two bit criminals, the Tiresian staff in no way care for the welfare of the arrested, some are handcuffed to furniture, , you see a cop smack upside the head an unruly criminal thats mouthing off. The 'desk sgt' is gruff.
[11:05:50] Tiresian Desk Sgt. : What?
[11:06:29] 2LT Komillia: We'd like to know if you know anything about the bookshop that was trashed.
[11:07:05] Tiresian Desk Sgt. : Sure, fill these out in triplicate and turn them in to window 4.
[11:07:11] Lt. Jaron: "Where can we find the owner?"
[11:07:12] Tiresian Desk Sgt. slides over a few forms.
[11:07:53] 2LT Komillia hands a copy to others and starts filling out one of the forms.
[11:08:19] Lt. Jaron takes the form and does so as well, waiting to see if the Sgt. replies
[11:08:39] Tiresian Desk Sgt. returns Jarons look.
[11:08:41] Tiresian Desk Sgt. : What?
[11:09:53] Lt. Jaron: "The owner of the book store, do you have his where abouts?"
[11:11:42] CWO3 Sarah looks around the station house with a slight frown, just watching and staying quiet.
[11:12:37] Tiresian Desk Sgt. : Forms, window four.
[11:13:17] Lt. Jaron nods and continues to fill them out
[11:14:58] GM: The formes filled out in triplicate the window 4 person files them and enters the data.
[11:15:16] GM: You are told that the bookkeeper is in hospital ina coma.
[11:16:22] 2LT Komillia: Well, that's a dead end.
[11:17:05] Lt. Jaron nods slightly "Did you all find anything missing?'
[11:18:45] Tiresian Police: Honestly, not that we can tell, if someone stole a book we wouldn’t know.
[11:19:17] Lt. Jaron: "thanks"
[11:19:29] Tiresian Police: You're welcome.
[11:19:32] Tiresian Police smiles.
[11:20:10] Lt. Jaron starts to out "I know you all don’t have anything invested here but the owner was a kind soul, so Im going to visit. You all don’t have to come"
[11:20:39] CWO3 Sarah listens quietly, then hmms softly, looking to Jaron. "Wonder if Anji might know more or be able to find more than some of the others."
[11:20:59] Lt. Jaron: "Worth a try Sarah"
[11:21:19] Lt. Jaron: (hospital in walking distance or need a cab?)
[11:24:11] GM: cab
[11:25:28] GM: You shuffle on over and eventually got to his room. He's in a coma allright. and looks pretty worked over.
[11:25:40] 2LT Komillia keeps an eye out for any on-lookers. [1d20] => [8] = (8)
[11:25:54] GM: If there are any Komi, you missed em
[11:26:30] Lt. Jaron asks a nurse/doctor "How bad is he and any idea of when he'll wake?"
[11:27:09] Nurse: Not sure sir, he's stable now, but he is very old…
[11:28:07] Lt. Jaron nods "Does he have any relatives?"
[11:28:15] Nurse: None listed.
[11:29:14] Lt. Jaron gives his information "Can you please keep me informed of any changes and possible visitors. He was a good friend"
[11:29:34] Nurse: Will do.
[11:30:38] Lt. Jaron looks to the others with some sadden eyes "Thanks all. If anything is on your mind, please speak up"
[11:31:53] 2LT Komillia: Ancient Conspiracy?
[11:33:51] CWO3 Sarah sighs. "I'm more concerned with the idea that we were watched going into the store. If they were looking for that thing, they'll know we have it, now."
[11:35:49] Lt. Jaron: "Possible but I have an idea. I will head back to the shop and start to fix it up. You all can help or play some surveillance"
